When can moonflowers go outside?

North Augusta, ON

I have them started, but I don't know if I should put em in a pot for a bit, or wait til they can go outside..or what? This is my first year trying them.
Thanks in advance,

Mine always stay in pots .. I use half gallon size and they do fine and usually have about 4 - 6 plants per pot.

Always in pots? What do they climb on? That would be perfect, cause then I could bring em in if I have to.......

I've started making cages which have proved to be squirrel proof.

Mutant Junkie Squirrels? I love that description. No squirrels around here, but thank you for the idea.

mine stay in pots too. they go outside once their true leaves form and start vining. mine run up my fence. they get weepy looking in the heat but as soon as i water they are fine. in pots you can move them where you want them.

i have seen people use tomato cages and dowels tied together and all sorts of things for them to run up on.

when you put them out the first few days keep them in the shade and slowly move them then to partial shade then full sun. you will burnup the babies if they are put ddirectly in sunlight after being inside.

I was kinda hoping I could put them right in the garden to climb up some trellises and other things...but I don't know how muxh cold they can take.....our nights are still dropping to the low 40's.....

they seem to be happy enough.
