These two trees were purchased in the early fall, went through the winter in a 20 gal container fine, despite our freezes. The first one is fine but this one is doing wierd things, the needles are turning brown and very lime. It is still flexible. I tried alphalfa teas, epsome salt, fertilizer early in the season and the other one got the same. What is wrong? I water every 2 to 3 days. Is it too much for this drought tollerant tree that has been in the ground for 3 months? Oh ya I added peroxide too and aluminum to change the ph. Chlorosis, too much water???????
My Eleppo Pine is struggling
Not surprising with all those poisons you've been pouring over them!
Next time, just plant them in the natural soil, and don't add anything other than water, and that only when the soil is very dry.
Resin
PS spellcheck: Aleppo Pine
Oddly enough the poisons have only effected one of the two though. hmmm. thanks for the spanking and the spelling bee though. It was fun for me. lol
Could be that one just reacted faster to the various stresses, maybe the other one is in a location that has slightly better drainage so the excess water and chemicals drain away better and it hasn't started to show symptoms yet. I would change what you're doing for it too because it may just be slower to show damage but will catch up eventually.
hell , Are They picking on you over here ???
Kell My friend. SOS They are picking on me everywhere I go today. I am getting a complex. lol
Please Don`t go .
With that new set of hooters you can take on the world !!!!
Go girl GO . I`ll back you up . Kell
tHANKS BABE. I WENT TO THE STORE TO GET A FEW THINGS AND I WAS ASKING FOR HELP TO GET THE CART OUT AND PALLETS OF WATER ETC. help to the car etc, I said i just had surgury , could you help me and they were all looking at me like I had breast implants than reduction. It was so funny.
My tree is just plain brown, I took all the needles off but it is still alive and flexable. I put systemic insecticide in it. How can I get new growth on it without over fertilizing it?
The T & S forum suddenly got interesting. ;)
Hey hellnzn11!
Hey ginger749!
Good to see you two took your show on the road and ended up here!
Does T & S still stand for TREES and Shrubs..............................?
OH Equal you flatter us. It is a secret from our spouses though. Apparently DG admin doesn`t share our deranged and off humor. Kell tried to engage them to play and got no responses to his funny games. That is why I like him, he is wacky and I don`t want him to play alone because he so obviously plays well with others.
Yes Dawn, you two can be a kick. I'm glad he finally broke down and subscribed.
Back on track for a moment, how are your trees doing?
well one is ok, but starting to get a little brown and the other has no needles on it at all, I removed them but the tree is still flexable, branches and all.
Bummer, did you back off on the water?
yep but I have not moved them, it is real hot suddenly and I thought it would not be wise. I have them still in containers burried with the bottoms cut out and wire under the cut outs and submerged in a big hole becase of my gopher probs, maybe the containers are the problem. The other one is looking a bit brown now since i have been watering them about 1 time a week or more now.???????
