I found this bug on my pants leg. I think this may be the same one that tries to bite the back of my head when I'm outside. They are very irritating, anyone know what it's called?

It's a robber fly, my first guess is genus Efferia... I'll look around more later. I don't know about you, but the back of my head is an increasingly target-rich environment for biting insects, with each passing year...sighh

I have a military style haircut and these darned flies swarm around me everytime I'm out there. I probably need to get me a big hat. LOL

I'm pretty skittish when it comes to bugs flying at my head; I bet my neighbors think I'm some kind of fruit when I suddenly duck and run away...
