Am I in trouble?

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

We had a torrential storm this morning, 3" of rain. Everything took a beating, and some of my lilies were laying down from the pounding. I sort of pushed them back into the ground to straighten them up. Will this help?

Also, in trying to rebury a lily, I actually broke it off. It had 3 little flower buds. wahhhhh. Can I stick it in water for indoor blooms or is it a gonner?

Other than this, my lilies are doing so well. Mostly orientals and hybrids. I'm very excited about them and waiting in anticipation for gorgeous blooms.

Oh Nery, what a shame. Dang weather! Well, at least it wasn't a tornado...

If the stems aren't broken, you may luck out. You might want to give the ones that are tipped over a little extra support. I take it your ground is pretty saturated for this to happen.

Not sure about the one that had blooms coming. I suppose it would depend on if they were fully developed or not. I'm guessing not. It's still not too late to plant for this season (that is if you really need a fix for what you lost).

I've pushed them back up carefully and staked them and they were fine. :)

One year my 3 year old daughter snapped off all of my lily flower buds. I put them in water and everyone of them opened. They were pretty mature buds, but not open at all. I was so excited to have little cups of lilies all over the house!

Besure to change the water at least every 2-3 days.

I've duct taped a stem that was only just attached (not quite broken off) and it bloomed. I probably should have cut and put in water. Just another experiment.

hi everybody. I did push them back into the ground, using my foot and they straightened right up. Now blooming. I need to take pics. I forgot to take the broken one out of the trash so I missed my chance to experiment putting it in water.

thanks for your help.
