Hello,
I bought some lovely bulbs for fall planting - a variety of species/trumpets/orientals. (Just a couple of each, as I'm a new gardener.) I had some chaotic things going on last year, and the bulbs never got planted. They are still in a box in my garage, where they've been all winter. (I live in central MN, so it gets pretty cold.) Is there any chance they'll be plantable, or are lily bulbs too delicate to survive something like that?
Thanks for the suggestions!
Bulbs gone bad?
Sure, there's a decent chance that they're OK. Take a look and see if there is any rot, too squishy, dried out, etc..
There's nothing to lose by giving it a try. Post a pic of the bulbs if you're able.
I, too, would give it a try. The worst it could do is compost itself, right. But the sooner you get them in , the better your chances.
I'm going to take a look at them tonight, and if they're not already a pile of compost, I'll post pics. :)
I'd rather put something else in the ground if there's no hope. :)
