What a funny topknot! That is going to make a silly looking chicken :) I can't wait to see it as it grows.
It's time, it's time !!!
My gosh, you certainly are going to have a lot of beautiful babies! Your Pictures are great, I agree with everyone on that! Yep! Little Topknot is a heartbreaker!!!
They look great Julie! I love that puffy headed silkie!
I wondered when they could go outside for a bit. We did change the bedding outside one day, under a big tree and let them run around for a few minutes.
Well I did the big debate on putting them outside for a couple hours, but they loved it. I figure if they'd hatched in the coop with momma they'd be outside everyday with her running around.
I blocked the sides of the porta-pen and covered the top with a tarp and left only the middle open for air and sunshine. It was 70ish outside and they spent it scratching and learning to catch bugs and really seemed to enjoy it a lot.

Thanks Julie.
The day I took mine out, it was a very warm day and we went in the shade. I checked for hawks first! LOL The only problem I had is that they wanted to fight over maple seeds. We spent most of the time breaking up fights and taking the seeds away. I wasn't sure if they'd hurt them or not. Next time I'll rake an area! I just can't get over how quick they grow!
