Murmur, the 100+ pictures of the Canvasbacks, was part of the 145 total for the evening. There were a few of the terns and three poor shot of Green-winged Teal. The Canvasbacks were feeding within 20 - 30 feet of me, and did not pay any attention to me.
Rednecks and Ducks
Really handsome guy!
I had 285 today, Gras - I took quite a few of an eagle and a bunch of a heron who was fishing. Most have been deleted, of course, but I'll post three eagle shots on the daily thread.
A pair of Trumpeter Swans, a pair of American Wigeons, and a pair of Canvasbacks, at Potter's Marsh, Anchorage, Alaska this evening. The swans stir up food from the bottom and the ducks swim around the swans collecting dinner. The male Canvasback would attack the Wigeons every time they tried to feed near the swans.
There were three Swan at the marsh this evening, but most of the time they were feeding too far apart for a shot. It's also unusual to catch them all up at the same time. They spend more time with their heads under water than above. Murmur, I only took twenty something shots this evening. Not enough fast action.
Great pics Gary!!
Marvelous photos!
Ooooh, I really like this one you posted at May 10, 2007 4:07 AM - gorgeous!
