I've grown nasturtiums here in Houston. They are a late fall/early spring bloomer. I've never had any survive the heat of summer.
What's blooming in your garden now?
Crowelli, I'm w/you on the nasturtiums - no hot weather for them but they DO come back the next fall/winter. How in the world did you get your pink cosmos to reseed? All my yellows and oranges reseed, as well as the orangey/yellow w/the dark center, small, med., large but tho I always used to plant the pinks they never came back and I know they had seeds.
Ann
Ann, I didn't do a thing to get them to reseed. They're just happy where they are, I guess. They managed to reseed in spite of the heavy layer of mulch I keep on all my beds.
That looks gorgeous Ted, but I think what you have is Mexican Primrose.
I like your terraced yard and pond. Will you be coming to the R.U.?
Josephine.
Thanks all for the info on nasturtiums. Maybe I'll try them this fall. I've always thought they were pretty. Josephine, the garlic you gave me is absolutely huge! Can't wait to harvest it.
Ted, your yard is gorgeous!!! :-)
That terracing looks really good, but man is that ever alot of work!
I love the primroses -- and people think of them as weeds, I guess because they grow along the streets. Hasn't this been a glorious spring for roadsides? The Indian paintbrush, blanket flowers, bluebonnets, fleabane... it's all growing like crazy down here.
Josephine thanks. When you posted I was one my way back in to change the name. There's Petunia there but not in bloom yet.
Will not b e making the roundup this time. Too many things to do here and not enough of me to do them. LOL
Marylyn thlanks.
Primroses love your flower beds and will be invasive, but spring do put on a show.
