ugh! here we go again

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Tropical Strom Barry knocking at our back door! Praying it will not turn into a hurricane. The projected path so far is showing us in the landfall zone around monday or so. Things can change..but that means someone else gets him..not wishing that on anyone! Lets hope for the best here!

Lutz, FL(Zone 9b)

Good Luck Lisa and anyone else in the storms path. Once again we in the Tampa Bay area have gotten lucky. Not so lucky for the folks down south of us though, and it's still raining

southeast, NE

I heard that on the news this a.m. and thought of you. Sending happy thoughts to you. Wish you could send some rain this way - it is so dry out - you can see the crops dieing.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, I heard there was over 8" of rain down there and flooding. Take care everone in the path of that storm, we
just can never predict or 2nd guess
these natural disasters. Prayers to all.

Oh Lisa! We'll pray that it changes course and hits no one! I trust you will make sure you're in a safe place if it does- plants CAN be replaced eventually- but you cannot!

I hope that thing doesn't come into the gulf and then east over our mountains. We have had rain every day for 2 weeks. I was so excited because it looked like my hens and chickens were going to bloom, but now the bloom stalk on one of them has rotted. Maybe the other one will make it

Do these storms ever just fall apart? Hope so, Lisa, you have had enough storm damage this year.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Update on the storm: It is stalled out in the gulf right now about 140 miles or so from us. They said last night it was not to impressive, but they expect it to build up again. They are still thinking landfall by sunday night or monday. The weather here is very nice at the moment. No rain yet but this afternoon we may start getting some. Thanks all for the prayers and thoughts, Lisa & family

two things make them break up. Landfall, and getting too far north, where they cool off and die away. I am a hurricane veteran, been through about 10 of them on coastal NC

Thanks everyone. You know, davesgarden must have the nicest folks on the web!It always 'does my heart good' when I see how folks respond to others here. It seems now we have to worry about Tim, MzM, arlene and gone2seed. It looks as if Barry is taking a turn toward Fla. I know that gone2seed lives close to where they are talking about Barry making landfall. My thoughts and prayers are with my friends in Fla. Hang in there! Lisa

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Anybody heard from Lisa today? Just wondering if things are ok!

Yes she is ok, talked to her 3.00pm your time today.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

oops! sorry Peggy for not giving an update. Things are fine here. We had a little rain late last night but nothing big. Barry has moved on shore in the Fla. panhandle, Destin area. It hit around mid-night last night. We should have more rain today, but nothing too bad. Thanks all for the concern and prayers. You guys are the best, Lisa & family

Mz M, this morning on our local news they had one of our local news guys there in the Destin area. He did say things were good, little damage, but they were out of power. Lets hope that is all that was done! Lisa

There is a tornado watch in effect for all our friends in the panhandle, as well as the southern half of Alabama. I'm watching the storm closely!

Worrier Dave
