But man, would they have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! lolololol Great pic of everyone lined up E, great job! Such fun snapping pics of everyone in their element. It is great fun. Makes me smile everytime I think about it. I enjoy my little ones as you can tell.

I've got 5 silkies hatched out so far this morning..............and hopefully more to come later today. :) Will snap pics as soon as I get them out of the bator. Don't want to drop their humidity just yet by opening the door. So far, I can see a a couple of blues, a couple of splashes and a black. Wooooooooo Hooooooooooo ladies, I am excited!

She loves being with the new baby Japanese and mothers them so well but she is getting very broody now and needs a MAN!!! She didnt get along to well with the Sultan Roo, and the Japanese White really isnt attracted to her, and Old CockleLooLoo is way out of the Picture! I need a Silkie roo and soon!
Now talk about a riot!!! Mr. Turkeybeard came over this morning and decided he wanted the last two Buff O's , and an Astrolorpe . Wellllllllllll, I normally catch my Chicks at night while they roost( soooooo easy)! But since he came this morning and the chicks are now free ranging ,Oh my goodness , I wish I could have had someone filming or taking picures!!Just tooooooooo funnnnnnny!!!LOL! You woulnt think 5 week old Chicks would be that fast or defensive!!!! Im an old Biddy , and I weigh a ton, so me chasing chicks was a riot! And yes I use a Butterfly net and still was having trouble! Turkey beard is a young Rooster and he moved a lot quicker than me, but those chicks had us turning somersaults!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!! But we got 'er done!!! Turkeybeard now has 2 more buffs and an Astra!!! Yay!!!!!!!!

Cocklelooloo says" Now see little ones, Peoples are the funniest things, They arent quite right! Just keep your wits about you and you can make them do the darndest things!"

lllllllllllmmmmmmmmmmmmmmbbbbbbbbbbboooooooooo, E!!!!!! What a riot that must have been and I emphathize with you terribly as I too don't get around like I used to and I'm just just glad NO ONE sees me having to chase my crew!!!! lolololololol What a hoot, and thanks for sharing. I needed a good laugh today. I'm battling a darn 'ole kidney stone and man, things have been rough around here! lol
One thing is for sure..............Cocklelooloo is sure right about us! lolololol

Here is my latest venture. This poor little female hummingbird landed RIGHT smack in front of me while I was outside a minute ago. Well, low & behold, her right wing is broke. Go figure. DH says I have a huge sign on my back that reads: "Wounded, hurt, or problems? No worries, we'll fix it!". ha ha ha, right? What else was I suppose to do? I'm about to build her a little sling, with a small dowel rod to help hold her wing back together and see how she does for the remainder of the week. She eats good so far, so maybe?????? I hate that for her. They are such pretty, graceful birds. I'm off to play nurse for a while! E-behave yourself while I'm away, you here? LOL

Awwwwwww man! How precious! You see , the Powers that be , know you!!!! This little gal was sent to you for healing, and I know youcan do it! Take care of your new patient and keep us updated on her progress!

Salt Lake City, UT(Zone 6a)

OOOoooohhh my word, Good Luck Belinda, that seems like a very worthy project to taken on, I Know I would not be able to pull it off, so my hat is off to you for even attempting, besides the sugar water, how are you going to feed it? I heard that they eat alot of bugs - fruit fly's and the like, are your chicks going to be giving up some treats?

Once again the imagery you in which you describe your antics Eufaula made my day.

Love all the pic's -thanks

Freedom, PA(Zone 6a)

So sad, hope you can help her out. I love the little hummingbirds. We won't see them here until Mid May. Last spring I had a few beautiful Heuchers blooming and I was watching this little hummingbird have a feast, well my cat came out of nowhere and caught the bird in her mouth, before I could scream at her it was dead. She made me so mad that day, I didn't think she could catch a hummingbird as fast as they are and she's 10 years old. But she did and I scolded her for a long time for that.

Dublin, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, after just a few hours my little patient is doing very well. She is drinking sugar water, and I have offered her a few pieces of mealworm which she gobbled right up. Thankfully, I've got lots of itty bitty bugs around here that I can catch and feed her. So far, so good. What is amazing to me is that she doesn't seem at all afraid of me..........sort of like she knows I'm trying to help her. :-)

MQN, thanks for the kind words and I love it that my antics can make anyones day. What a treat for me. Thanks for sharing that. I hope it is obvious that my chicks are really my babies..............all my little ones grew up and flew the nest, so I had to take on something else! lol Cathy, I bet your poor cat thought ..............now wait just a minute here..........it is MY JOB to catch birds! lolololol Guess she showed you that even as an old coot, she can still move when she needs to! :)

Well, I'm up to 10 baby silkies.............woooooooooo hooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Here is my favorite little one so far. She appears to almost be a "silvery" color, I've already named here Jazzie. Looks like I'm going to have several blues, splashes, blacks, and then Jazzie. :) 2 more pipping now, hopefully they will hatch before bedtime tonight. An even dozen, can't beat that!

Thumbnail by TexasGardenMom
Eatonton, GA(Zone 8b)

Ohhhhhhhh, a white one, just what I love! Jazzie is just toooooo pretty! Of course though, I would fall in love with them all if I saw them! I wish I was there to see them hatch!

Good work with the little Hummer, sounds like you knew just what to do!!! Dr. Doo-Linda!

Northern Michigan, MI(Zone 5a)

Wow you have been busy !!!! Did I miss it what did you name the hummer ?? Sounds like she may be staying with you for a long time, if the wing is broke she may not be well enough to fly off and have to live with you forever once she heals. How is she doing today ?? If she is eating well it's a great sign a lot of times injury puts them into shock and they die right off. I especially hate it when a bird hits the window.... I use it as my excuse not to wash the windows more often..lol.

Love all the pics, thank you for posting a guinea pic. Mine seem to eat and move all the time, non stop...lol.

I've got 4 silkie eggs still showing movement (pre- power failure eggs) and should be due to hatch next week..... I'm geeked...lol. There are 2 banty favorelle eggs moving as well that will be ready next week too. The green eggs I can't tell, several appear to have appropriate egg sacks so I am hoping for the best next week and they will pop out a fuzz ball for me.

~Julie =0)

Dublin, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm super pleased to report that my female hummer is still eating and drinking very well. She makes this little chattering noise when I bring her treats to her. She seems to be thankful :-) lol @ Dr. Doo Linda, E!!!! LOL, only you! lolololololol And, Julie ~ window cleaning for me is never an option!!!! lmbo Bird hazard, you know. Besides my old crippled up body can't climb very far up ladders anymore and I'm not about to take the chance, fall off, and wham! There goes a hip or a knee! Darn, getting old certainly BITES! lololololol

Those guinea keets are a movin' machine, now and certainly an eating machine. Geeezzzzzzzzeeeeeeeee, they eat TWICE what my baby chicks do! They have gotten to where they LOVE cantalope, of all things! When I give them their daily "treat", they will pick through and eat the cantalope first. ???? Julie, I can't wait to see your faverolles, aracaunas, and silkies. What color of silkies do you have hatching? I too have some Salmon Faverolle bantams that just hatched...........a trio, which I named Huey, Duey & Louie. :0) !!!!!
I moved several more eggs into the hatching bator - - - upped their temp/humidity, so maybe tomorrow I'll have a few more silkies & some CRN pheasants, the blue-back strain. I hope, anyway. Hopefully, more pics then! Hope all of you have a great weekend!
Belinda

This is a little splash silkie "Madison". She is the outgoing one of the bunch! Can't wait to see how jealous Corky & Sally are of her! lollolol

GO Dr. DoLinda, I became an empty nester last year so I definitely can relate to these are your babies. And another non window washer here. I am saving energy, conserving water, putting less chemicals out into the environment, saving the "run off" effect to the storm drains, the gunge on the window are multi-functional they provide UV protection, soft filter effect for the view (in & out), as well as "bird proofing".......

Madison is Gorgeous, & to be so outgoing and sooooooo tiny & precious she obviously has got aLOT of personality.

Good luck on your hatching Julie, you obviously know what you are doing to have success after your power failure.

How is the weather in texas??? I had heard on the news that it was bad...
How are your chicks doing????
How are you doing????
Tracey

Dublin, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, after a LONG battle with an awful, horrible, nasty KIDNEY STONE, I am getting better! Finally. Those things are terrible, I think I would rather eat cactus before I go through that again!!!!!!! :0)

Nadine, you sound like a "go-green" type of lady and I love that. I too am a green-aholic and do my very best to hep out the environment when I can.

Tracey, thanks so much for asking about things. The weather here has been rather tacky. Hail, high winds, even a tornado or two here and there. NOT GOOD. My chicks are all doing great! I had five more silkies to hatch yesterday, 3-buff and 2-red. SO pretty. The surprise of my day yesterday was a baby duck being born in the "growing" bator, not even my hatching bator! I opened it to check the water and WAM! There he was! Four days early, hopping around all alone. I quickly put him in the brooder with the silkies until his siblings are born. I now have them in the hatching bator - - - maybe today or tomorrow he will have a friend of his own to hang with. I also hatched several CRN Pheasants, the Blue-Back strain. I've been super busy, and still haven't gotten to work in my gardens again, and they are full of weeds! How are all your chicks doing?
Belinda
