Thx Rox, My appointment turned out worse than I expected (2.5 hrs, upsidedown practically), however I am getting crowned in 2 weeks..LOL! My Dentist very careful and is a riot we cut up a lot, talk about plants and such. He and his staff take care of all 5 of us like we're their only customers.
Thx snuzer too, Definatly do the brew... then let me know what happens! Smles~
Millie~ I have a feeling you won't wait very long for ZLW,, those heliconians are very prolific butterflies. I actually found Blue Crown PV seeds at Target there are only a few to 6 seeds in the pkg, but they should all germinate well for you. BC PV makes up most of what I have here..incense is picking up steam now, and I have maypop too. When ya start early in Spring they stay from then on. Their generations are multiplied from then out, just ask Becky,,,lol!
Today another new guy showed up for the afternoon, and on the Butterfly Daisys too. Oh boy! Did Paige give those to me at the swap? Quite a wonderful surprise how many customers are showing up for their Spring debut. I am beside myself. I can't say enough about them. Certainly going to gather some seeds as soon as some of the flowers are complete and seeded.
Look who was peeking out of there this afternoon...
He's a not a Southern Dogface>
He is a Clouded Sulphur...still very happy to see him!

Daily Pics of Butterflies
LOL Love that pic!
Thank you Lynn!! :-S
I can already tell it's going to be difficult to get an open wing shot of this guy, but with the backlight I thought I could see the dog face through the wing. He's nectaring this Mouse-eared Coreopsis. I was really blown away not having seen any pics doing justice to the maroon outline on the wing.
Edited to say ...it was a mis-ID....It's a Clouded Sulphur.. will post new pics with open wings tomorrow morning, yaaaaaaaawn!
I got a lot more pics today, 14 different species, only got pics of 11 of them. Qill post them manana!!
Waves~all~~

Awesome photos Deb! Way to go!
I checked out your site for the brew show and loved it. I will try that soon because I've only seen a few fluttering around and they are flying too high to even get a photo of. I've planted a whole bunch of butterfly friendly plants and just can't understand why they aren't here yet. So...... It's time to pull out the big guns! :-)
Thanks for sharing your fluttering beauties!
Janet
Thank you Janet!
I've been working on this steadily since October. It's a sigh and a half to see it coming to fruition. All the help we were doing in the Host and Nectar Threads last fall, and I feel like I was the one being helped now. I sure hope a lot of other people got as much.. We can certainly do it again this fall. It will be interresting to see the seeds of this Summer's harvest. I cut down another GF from the lattice yesterday and hung him in with the other 3.. Getting my bearings here. Let me know how it's goin as ya go.
Nice to see ya!
Well, Deb ..... you've done it again! Posted some GREAT photos of some gorgeous butterflies! Love your little Dogface visitor!!! I can see you all your hard work with the new garden beds is paying off with all your new visitors! Ya go, girl!!!!
