Lin, I took some pictures today of my terrarium, and I think I have a good shot of the "sucker". Have a problem right now to get them into the computer, but I'm working on it. Spent a lot of time with my camera figuring out how to keep the flash from flashing and spoiling the picture. Anxious to see them blown up big.

suckers are what
Ooooh Gardengram, I can't wait to see your pic's! I have been having camera trouble of late too ... I'm not technically oriented at all and I have no clue on all the different settings! I just want to put it on one setting, leave it and have it take "perfect" photo's. LOL.
Lin
p.s. Wow ... I just noticed the time of your last post .... 4:18 a.m.!!! You are a nightowl, aren't your?
OK, ladies, here we go. The first picture is the 35 gal aquarium turned terrarium when I started it a year ago. Had some plant loss over last summer when I was in the hospital for several months, so have some things gone and some new things in their places. On the right side is a cake stand from a thrift shop holding up a mini ivy in a clear plastic tray. On the left is a gray rock with holes that used to be in the aquarium. You can barely see the AV down in the front.
This is it taken the other day. As I said some plants are different, but only two or three. The fern is rebounding and the ivy is trying to take over the world. The tall AV to the left is the original one that has always stuck its leaves up in the air. The AV to the left was added six months or so ago and has had its leaves down low. Neither of them has ever bloomed. Both of them are NOIDs.
Edited to correct stupidity: The AV to the RIGHT has always had its leaves low.

I think I would leave that one alone and see what it will do. You terrarium looks very good. I agree with Amy though, if you can't beat 'em - join 'em. I tried for the longest to keep the suckers off of Evergrace and finally gave in and let it do it's own thing. It's very happy, grows and blooms just as good with suckers as it does without.
gardengram.....what a wonderful terrarium you have going......congratulations....it is so healthy looking.....
Thank you, Gail and Susan. I have been glad it's done well, since I had no clue what I was doing when I started in. I just read everything I could find on here and went for it.
Just out of wanting to know......where do people buy these beautiful terrariums that aren't expensive?? The last time I had to buy a fish tank for my kids growing up it costs a small fortune???
I had that aquarium for about a millineum. I know that you can find them at yard sales. Also try thrift shops for those or big jars.
thanks and I will start looking!!
