Had been to my friend's house last evening when I noticed this. I followed it and was just able to get as close as about 6 cms. It was there for just a couple of seconds by which time I had managed this macro shot. Where does this beauty belong?

CLOSED: Which is this butterfly?
Pretty sure that's a female Danaid Eggfly or Hypolimnas misippus.
Order Lepidoptera, Family Nymphalidae, H. misippus
Thanks a lot! You come up with an answer incredibly quickly!! I'm a complete novice and I now begin to learn a little bit here, though I studied Zoology in school. That was about 33 years ago.
Here's one more. It visited my garden and was staying put even as I went close for a picture. It was getting dark and I used a flash. It is much blacker on the wings than what is seen due to the flashlight.
Beautiful!!! Papilio polytes or Common Mormon. There are different morphs or forms of females:

Woo ha! You're right there!
You are adding these to Bug Files, I hope? Preferably when you're at work,haha...
Yea, adding them to BF. Now most of my work here on DG is not during my 'work'. From home!
