Mt. Fuji re-blooms

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

This is the vine I planted last August. After it had many blooms and set seeds it stopped blooming for a while. Now that I have picked off all the seeds, it is starting to bloom again. This is different from the I. purpurea plants I grew indoors. After purpurea bloomed and set seeds they were DONE....just dropped all their leaves, matured the seeds, and died.

WoW on that clear blue color!! I like it...

This color is totally non-adjusted by the camera. They look like this in the morning, and look a little more purple at the end of the day when they are finished.

Great color Beth. Thanx for telling us about removing the seed pods.

Hi Beth,
This Mt Fuji is very nice !
About the white rays, aren't they supposed to go from the base of the petal to the edge?

I grew some Mt Fuji 2 years ago and one of the plants didn't have any rays at all...I was quite new at growing Japanese MG and I didn't knew then that there could be mutations considered very interesting by JMG enthusiasts.Anyway, this plant didn't make any seeds, I started it too late in the season, had 2 flowers then died.

There are variations in the amount of white from plant to plant and even from flower to flower! Never a dull moment with MG's....
