Hi there,
Frank, I grew a I. carnea and I think the leaves are different on mine, this photo is from 2004. Maybe the change as they get older, or i was growing something else.

I have been pulling my hair out all day dealing with camera , new to me issues, like downloading software etc. When I finally hooked my camera up to the buss port in the front they wouldnt unload. Then my daughter and her boyfriend arrived, and he plugged the cord into the bussport behind the comp and it worked. He told me that the front bussports sometimes are only intended for a mouse ora joy stick, and they don' carry enough voltage for the camera. I have 10 species here to post, and this is my very first time posting photos, so please do look over my shoulder and double check me.

I should have opened the aperature to 22 to get more depth of field, but I didn't have my glasses on,lol. I can do a lot better than this I think. I think this is setosa, not carnea. I think I took to many shots of each one, and trying to improve the shot, on some of them I didn't move the label to where it could be seen in the exposure. So carnea was three and setosa was 4, and I didn't have numbers in the shot to clue me. GOOD EYE. More camera practice tomarrow. It has been a long wait to get this camera, and I am in such a heat i am all thumbs sometimes. Frank

Well, I think you are doing a fantastic job.. it took me three years to get where you are now.. so pat yourself on the back. I finally got me a system to keep my photos kinda straight. I take the first photo with the label on it so I can read it, then the next four will be of the same plant without the label... the next new plant I make sure that the label shows again and take four more of the same plant.. I keep doing this until I finish...

So each time I see a label, that means it is a different plant. otherwise I get really confused because right now all the cotyledons look alike to me..lol

I did get them out of sequence. Here is Carnea #3.

Setosa is actually #4 by the label, not by the subject box above which can't be edited.

Thank you , I really was starting to need some encouragement. Other than we had a wonderful Easter. My oldest, Angela 27 and her boy (?) friend Matt 30, came dow and prepared easter dinner. Mom and I sat and watched, like we
were in the studio audience. lol And we thanked him for not taking any station breaks or time outs for commercials. He is such a good chef, and enthusiastic. They are ready to settle down, and oh it has been a long wait for me.

Tomarrow, I think I will redo the last pictures, retake them. I set the lense on manual and forgot to set the camera on manual, and oops, there went my depth of field out the window. I hope things turn out better tomorrow. Frank
