Sheila, that is one gorgeous daughter you have there!!!!
I hope I get to see some like that.
Josephine.

It turned out just lovely! :) I'm glad that your DH seems to be enjoying the butterflies too. Even if he says he isn't, he really is. lol

That MC is a beauty, I've never seen them either.
Ditto, I hope you are feeling much better!!!
DEb...thanks for the b'day wish!!!
Thanks all. I am glad it waited until I was able to enjoy releasing it. You know which one I will be scouring my plants for tomorrow! I need to read up on which plants it uses for nectar. You think it is a female Josephine?
Oh, I just guessed, it is so pretty it couldn't be anything but, don't you think?

I didn't see it today, but with the rains we got, I am sure it wasn't flying much. I searched the web, but didn't find anything on sexing of the MourningCloak. So SHE was a treat.
Rox - I thought I had sent you birthday greetings in another post or d-mail or some place. If I didn't, I certainly intended to! Happy Belated Birthday!!!! :-)
Sheila - Neat butterfly! Always interesting to see something that we haven't seen or discussed before on this forum. Thanks for sharing your little butterfly adventure with us!
Thanks Becky, you did:)
An interesting fact about the Mourning Cloak is if the cats are disturbed they will all move in unison. They like to feed in groups.
The cat looks kind of scary...like it has spines, I bet predators think that too.
I read that about them. I just can't find anything about telling the sex of the bf. I hope it found a mate in the area and will be increasing the population, so I can spot another next year.
Thanks everyone for sharing the experience.
