Thanks Paul. I killed 2 of these last yr even though they were in a potting mix.
I'll try sand this yr and hope for the best.

Paul - The plant you posted looks very much like Ipomoea cordatotriloba and it doesn't resemble Ipomoea pes-caprae,Ipomoea imperati or Ipomoea indica...so,I'm wondering why you are referring to it as a 'beach' MG(?)...

Did you collect these seeds yourself from 'some beach' type of area (?) or were these offered by some merchant(?)...just wondering...

Ron,

These were the seeds I collected that were on a fence right across from the lake were I used to live. That's why I called it beach mg for lack of a different name. The flowers aren't very big. But I agree with you after looking at the different types that it looks more like Ipomoea cordatotriloba. Thanks, now I can correctly lable it.

The size of the flowers in relation to the leaf makes me think that it is more likely to be Ipomoea triloba...

Can you see if the seeds look more like the photo here...without the bug hole...

or
the seeds here

I'm just curious...as it might be a purple Ipomoea lacunosa...

Ron, The seeds were very small, I believe they look more like the one with the coin in the pic. I already have some seed pods on the plant and when they ripen I will take a pic of them to show. Paul

Nice color in the flower, Paul!
