We have one the nests on top of our spotlight under the front eveas of our house... I have 3 house up so far this year and I have a gourd painted to go up also... The yellow finch was here again today and the blue bird beat her up again... poor baby... No promise that if I put one up she will get it... I cant stand there with the shot gun for her... LOL

Lin and Susan,I just love feeding birds and critters and watching the baby birds fledge from the nests..I started out years ago with one squirrel feeder and one birdfeeder like alot of people. I am not even about to tell anyone how many I have now..LOL..My neighbors call me the "BirdLady" They just don't understand!! At least its not BagLady.Always could be worse LOL
Susan,I have been trying unsuccessfully for years to get a goldfinch to nest in one of my houses.They just won't do it for me : ( I had my 1st bluebirds ever last year so now I have special houses for them.They are so great!!

Now I dont know if I give her a house she would really nest but now the dad stays at the houses while the wife goes and gets things for the nest and this I believe is to keep the goldenfinch out of it for she kept going in when they left.... strange....
Ok off to bed for me as I have to work in the morning..YUCK and YAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..

alright ya'll i know this sounds bad but i got another whim in today and i thought i had got all my 5 in so did i miss sending to someone or did someone send me an extra or can i just not count,lol?

i got in from ruby a beautiful tealight silouette it is metal and handcrafted with hummingbirds it is so adorable and came with a citrinella tealight. i don't know how you knew but hummers and candles are my favorites, i love it and i truely thank you for the great gift!!!

please let me know where i messed up if ya all know cause i don't want to miss someone if i did i can get something and send tomarrow and i'm very sorry if i did. there is so many posts i can't find where i posted to check. if someone sent an extra then thank you very much and let me know so i can send you something as a thank you, if i'm just haveing a blonde moment and can't count hey, that's kool too,lol.

I dmailed perrenialgirl last week but she never dmailed me back : ( I still see her on other forums so I hope she has sended hers to whom she owes and just forgot to let me know? I need to go over the list and make a master list of who everyone needed to send to and whom everyone should have received from.I will wait til closer to the weekend to do that.It might take me awhile.LOL
After I get all figured out I will dmail each of you with your list of sends and receives,Hope that makes sense? After I get that done we will go from there.

i d-mailed amanda and char i know it was one of them but i'm sure it was amanda. well since this was my boo boo, i don't know which one i need to make it for yet but i am personally makeing their whim tonight or tomarrow for them so it is more of a personal appoligy and something special for their kindness in waiting so patiently.

it will have to set for 24 hours before i can send after i make it or it will be ruined on the way there so i hope that is ok because i can't ship it untill it is set. i'm trying to watch what i say so the person who recieves it is surprised and don't know what it is so bear with me,lol. i promise you will love what i send and again i'm very sorry!!

ya know i was looking at the list you sent and went back over the posts i don't think i messed up i was sure i had 5 to send, i think someone sent to me that wasn't supost to. here is what i can tell.

one post i had put-come on one more i got at least 2 to send, i'm so excited!!! then someone posted under me so i could go again-i think rose_petazz-ruby sent to me it should have been the one under me for her to send too.

the list you sent has rose_petalzz-ruby from and to i don't think she was to be on my list i think she sent to me because of the post mix up i mentioned above. so help me figure this out,lol i'm so confused, rotfl. if someone sent to me extra then let me know someone missing their whims and i shall send to them to make up for the extra, not a prob i just need to know who did what and still needs one. i sure hope that it diddn't mess up the whole line after us too, eeekk!!

Hope everyone goes over the signup list again to doublecheck who they send to and receive from.I am getting cross eyed trying to check them all.LOL Whenever you signed up your name.. the name right *above* yours is who you should have received a whimsy from and the person right *below* you is the one you needed to send a whimsy to.I think we covered that is the explanation on the signup page too hopefully..

If anyone thinks they might have sent to or received from the wrong person by mistake..please send the person a dmail or send me a d-mail and I will help you sort it out.Hope this all makes sense.I promise I will make time to make a master list of everyones sign ups and send toos later this week. Its tax week and I need to work on my taxes this week too..LOL : ( UGGGG!!

Wasn't this the most fun? I still have one to send to Susan51. I thought I mailed everything today but found her under some papers. Darn I never get everything going at once.

I received my package from Kaykay yesterday. No pictures, but she sent two real cute little pot holders vases , or rooting jars.Whatever their real purpose, I will use them as rooting jars. They ceramic and painted real cute. And she also included a magnetic pad with sticky notes on it. I have it attached to my vent fan on the range right by the telephone. It is just the perfect size. Thank you so much Kaykay for the thoughtful gifts. This has been a lot of fun. I hope to do it again soon. Lou

But...I did get an awesome snail windchime from a Ruby about a week ago, so am wondering if you sent to me by mistake or if you thought you'd forgotten to send to me (though you already did!)?
If so, I'll be happy to send something out to someone who might have been 'accidentally' missed.
And...if you just sent to me twice without missing anyone else....Iwill just have to reciprocate in the near future!!

Nan: My hubby tried to show me how to do a collage of photo's on our computer, but it was too time consuming and confusing for my brain! :) So, I'm of no help to you regarding that!

see i had 2 ruby ones too is there 1 ruby or 2 ruby ladies in the whim? i thought one but going back through it looks like there is 2 people. that is what is confusing me i'll post what i'm talking about in a min i have to find the post that is messed up. i will go back to it and edit to say this one so you know where i mean. there is a place i think i posted and the person above took it i signed up but i didn't till the next person did cause it said 3 inbetween us before we could go again.

ok, if you go the link above you posted an look for my name on the posts i edited where i think the mess up was so you can see. there is 2 posts edited right close together. if i'm right then it may have messed up more and some are getting extras which means that may be where some of the missing ones are. i wouldn't care except that means others aren't gonna get some and i don't want anyone left out of all the fun.

there is 2 mary's in this exchange me and another and i believe there is 2 ruby's also that might explain alot also. no one knows who we are,lol.

I didn't know it was messed up at all. I received all but one Whimsy and I didn't expect that"one" because she didn't post again after the first time. She may have forgotten about it, maybe forgot to "watch" this thread.

If anyone else is unsure of who they were supposed to send and receive from please send me a d-mail and I will help you sort it all out .Also if anyone accidently posted that didn't mean to please let me know too so I can get whimsys out to those still waiting.and also anyone expecting to receive a whimsy that didn't ( I know a few gals posted saying they were mailing a little later and that is fine) please let me know if you are still waiting this weekend.I know all these also's are probably making your heads spin.LOL

Okay, I hope you have not given up on me...I have received three very sweet gifts, one sun catcher, one wind chime and a very cute set of salt and pepper shakers. I have been quite ill, but I am finally getting my whimsies out today to the following people.....MissG, Cedarnest, and RubyW....please forgive my tardiness, and note there is a card on the package that has your address on it...I used the cards for the labels. Thanks again, Nancy for doing this and I hope noone has been disappointed because of my tardiness!

Hi all, well I have been ill with a stomach bug, yuckkkkk. Anyway Holly, thanks so much for the most adorable Snail!!!! I love that guy or gal. I took a picture of my whimseys, so will try to post here for everyone to see. I hope all of mine got sent to the right places too now that I read all of this. I had a list and went down the list; I pray I did it right. Anyway this was great fun, and thanks everyone that sent me a whimsey!!!!!! Stay well people, there is a weird bug going around, it is really kind of strange---first you get really really tired and sleep alot; then your stomach is gurglling and you are burping and food doesn't do anything for you, smells are awful and nausea, and then you crave protein----but you feel so "out there" and believe me, you sleep and feel terrible, but can't quite understand what is happening----------I am telling you it is WEIRD!!!! So take care!!!! Best wishes of weather and hugs to all!!!!

I wanted to take another quick moment to send out a Big Thanks to each and every one of you for making this such an enjoyable exchange.Everyones whimsys were so cute and nice.

Also I wanted to add a special Thanks to Holly and Lin, for encouraging,supporting and guiding me ( actually... explaining step-by-step how to do it is more like it) LOL .Without them heaven knows this wouldn't have been possible.I never would have been figure it out on my own thats for sure.

Looking forward to hosting another exchange in the fall....and I am really looking forward to Hollys next rooting jar exchange : ))

Thanks Nancy, Holly would love to run another rooting jar exchange but she will be traveling from Sept 1st thru Oct 15th. Which is just what I think would be the perfect time to run one. Summer months are so busy and then when I would get home the Christmas season is on it's way. Just think all those really cute rooting jars sitting on tables at Flea markets and Yard sales this summer waiting to be found. Then there are those cuttings to be taken and exchanged at the end of summer. I'm going to talk you all into this idea and then won't be around to have the fun. Holly

Bummer Holly,We wouldn't want you too miss out : ( Well there is plenty of time between now and then.Maybe Holly can do one the middle of August??LOL No really if it don't work for you maybe we can talk Lin into hosting the next one...Ya hear that Lin??hee hee I am still going to be scouring flea markets and garage sales all summer so I have a feeling even if you aren't around you will still have some new rooting jars waiting for you at home Holly when you return : )

I wouldn't necessary be too busy in July or August. I'm just not sure if we would have as good of participation in those months. Around the end of June we could see if there will be enough people interested in doing one then or if Vacations and other things would interfere too much.

I understand what you mean Holly.Just have to wait and see what everyone thinks about having it then.Keeping my fingers crossed.
