Can anyone help me out with instructions on starting wild ginger from seed? The instructions that came with the seed seemed a little extreme (6wks at 70 degrees, 6wks at 25-38 degrees and then back to
Asarum canadense
I'm sorry to tell you I can't answer your question--I'm dealing with the same issue w/ Asarum Europeum!!! I'm considering direct sowing into my garden--zone7b- also I'd like to try this w/ creeping thyme (thymus serpyllum) and viola odorata--(also red clover, trifolium pratense, which I expect to be no problem and for which I have enough seed to repeat process in spring if germination is less than desired or non-existent.) I feel that if MOTHER NATURE does it this way why can't we? Also, will slugs be a problem for all seedlings? There are HUGE slugs here on the Oregon coast.
