Protection from the frost this weekend

Garner, NC(Zone 7b)

The plants in the compost pile came through the cold weather without a hitch. I planted them all yesterday in anticipation of the rain. Just in case the weather gurus were actually right. I'm very happy with what we're getting although the thunder makes my dogs very nervous.

Good move getting things planted before the rain! I was out of town.. :( My backyard is a swamp now so I will have to wait! LOL!

I have a dry bank that literally had a river running next to it yesterday! I know I've lost a few things -like I needed anymore after the frost-and some of the logs I was using to hold the bank are on the other side of the yard! We got hail, too!

Gosh, will we ever get beyond this crazy weather?

One more night to get by and hopefully we'll be past this. Looks like they've raised the temps a bit from yesterday's forecast, which is good.

And hey, at least we aren't up north. They are having a heck of a rough time, though this wind we've had has been trouble enough.

Well someone go ahead and smack me.... :( I put 2 hibiscus and my lemon grass outside Sunday. Lemon grass if fine - hibiscus - well.... They are back in the house and look like crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did I do that????? I still have 2 other hibiscius I didn't get around to getting outside so they are fine.. SIGH.. Nother dumb gardening moment here...

Pinch 'em back and feed those babies; they should do fine. The weather has got to get warm sometime and they will thrive on the heat.

I just left my hibiscus out as well, and they seem to be alright. They aren't blooming like they were over the winter, but they'll bounce back.
