Does anyone recognise this interloper?

The rest of the Sunrise Serenade is definitely not Sunrise Serenade. Does anyone recognize this so I can see if I actually have seeds of this variety? I'm calling it the Cuckoo MG for now. Maybe the anoles in the greenhouse wanted to play an April Fools joke on me and switched seeds.

It's looks like a light Star of Yelta...but there's no real world consistency among the I.purpurea names as of yet...

That is not in my mg seed list. I'm beginning to thing that it was a deliberate switch just to get my seeds. I've had this happen with ebay too. I guess most people think that enough time will pass that you won't remember where you got the seeds.

I have had this happen also.I always keep track where I receive my seeds and the person who sends me seeds.I purchased blue silk a few yrs ago from ebay. The seeds were black.I grew them and what did I get heavenly blue. I was disappointed.
The blue silks are a tannish color.

I grew Blue Silk indoors one winter and it made dark seeds, not tan. It was weird.

I bought some seeds on ebay that grew out to be a noxious weed. The seller soon disappeared from the ebay system. I don't know how they can live with themselves, robbing folks like that.

Sorry you got treated this way, X, truly I am.

I bought some "Chachamaru" seeds off ebay that were mixed daylily and ipomoea tricolor seeds. I won`t go back there lol. They did fix the problem with a full refund.

We should share the names of these sellers so we don't all get tricked.

Beth, it was probably the same seller Joeseph mentioned because they disappeared. There is a handfull of sellers that I trust and I only buy from them now. Josam has always been a good one.

I only purchase mg seeds from a few sellers on Ebay and always have had Luck.
Josam is a great!seller and a few others.I dont know like Joseph said. How can people rob others and live with themselves. They should be honest.

Joseph, these are the blue silks I got from you. These ones are tan. Nice looking seeds and I can't wait to grow them.

I agree with Ron that it looks to be an Ipomoea purpurea. I noticed that there are slight variations in the blues that these will produce. This picture is a mix of Ipomoea Purpurea MG flowers.

Not once was the perpetrators mentioned by name.

I think that was on purpose...it's probably better not to share that info except in a personal D-mail.

You are right Beth .. I don't trash people in public unless I'm 101% sure. I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt.

This kind of thing can happen anytime anywhere. The thing we don`t always know for sure is why or the reason. Lots of things can go wrong. It could be circumstances beyond our control at times.

Gerris2-Joseph - When the "Blue Silk" was first offered in this country I bought 'alot' and there were a few completely dark seeds contained in the supply from Park...additionally the "Akatsuki no Tsuyu" which is in all likelihood where the "Blue SIlk" was derived from has both light and dark seed forms...

Just thought I'd mention that little bit of info...

How cool is that history, Ron, thanks much!!
