CLOSED: Carpenter Bee?

Central Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I have this little guy flying all over my garden. Now I first must say that I do not like flying insects but being a gardener I have learned to tolerate most. However, this one buzzes loudly, hovers over my flowers and is very defensive. It has gotten so bad I can't even get near my flowers to weed them. It is like he is stalking me.

I want to identify it and then get rid of it. Any suggestions?

Might be a Carpenter Bee, or a Bumble Bee. It's a little hard to see. They're in the same family, Apidae.
Personally, I don't kill or poison any bees or wasps. If I had an allergic child or something I might, but first I'd try to find out where it lives and see if I could exclude it somehow. Maybe you'll get other answers but generally these guys aren't much of a problem except for chewing holes in wood, like trim on your house. My sincere suggestion to you is to see if you can get along. I think he likes you. :)

Ok. So how do I find out where he lives? I have no clue where to start.

Watch them, see where they go. Look at any old or rotting wood like maybe an old shed or a barn and look for nearly perfect almost half inch holes that look like a drill made them. Sometimes a little pile of sawdust will give away their location.

Thanks I appreciate the information.
