We planted a weeping cherry tree last fall. It was beautiful a few weeks ago. Yesterday I noticed there was sticky sap on the trunk in two places. Are there borers that get on these trees?

Yes, they are susceptible to borers. They can also get bacterial canker. Post pictures. If you have a local agricultrual extension agent give them a call. They can suggest possible remedies or treatments.
