My confederate rose tree is very big and old. It seems to spred from the center outward with the center being the original plant but it has died in the center. Has anyone ever tried to divide the tree?
dividing confederate rose
I don't know any about the mature plants. I planted some seed but so far no luck.
Try tip rooting some of the shoots - cut a small notch in the underside bark near the tip of a shoot, and peg it into the ground at this point. It should take root over a few months, and then you can treat this as a new plant.

I have a plenty of rooted cuttings but just thought it needed to be divided because of the middle looking bad.
