I found two of these cocoons in Lemon Balm this winter. They both hatched into the same coppery golden moth. This moth is great at playing possum. One panel of scales reflects a different way giving the impression of a single whitish spot in the middle of the wing. I attempted photography of the second one and am wondering if anybody can ID it for me.

It's probably a Looper Moth, can't really tell which one though. Take a look at these and see what you think, especially numbers 8885, 8886, 8890, and 8950.

I bet it is Golden Looper - Argyrogramma verruca - the spot on the wing is not quite right but mine had just come from the cocoon and maybe was not fully developed. Thanks so much claypa.
