Sorry, valleyjim .. tis difficult to tell, from the photo.

However, your bug appears to be a weevil of some sort. And, if so - I've yet to read/see any report of those guys being considered beneficial .. in any capacity.

Yeah, that long snout is made for sticking into buds and fruit and sucking out juices. Not sure which one it is either....there are so many...
