I thought it best to start a new thread for Donna's mini RU so as not to hijack the May RU thread.
Would someone mind adding the particulars here for me? Thanks guys and see you there.
Label printing party/iris garden tour!
Donna? What are the particulars? Time? What can we bring - 'nothing' is not acceptable. :-)
Kathleen
Just found this thread. lol Looks like we do have a little RU at hand.
I really haven't thought about the particulars yet, so give me a day to think and see how many people are actually coming, ok. I've been away from the house for 2 days and tomorrow I will be away for several hours also.
At the very beginning, Arlene was going to be here about 10am to work on the labels, so I guess you all could come about then or when ever you can get here. As soon as I get a little more info, I will let you all know, ok?
Donna
Count me in, but prolly a little later than Arlene, you know how I am... Have P-touch, hope I can find the instructions (haven't used since first week or so I owned! and it seemed like such a good idea at the time!).
~'spin!~
Spin, I have the instructions so don't worry too much.
It's THIS coming Thursday right? And the following Monday at the garden?
Yes Louise, it's this coming Thursday!!! I'm really looking forward to seeing you all again.
Me too!
Spin, what time are you coming? Kathleen said about 10:30 and haven't heard back from Weegy yet.
Looking forward to tomorrow. :-)))
Donna
I'm leaving here around 9:00. I WILL be there. Hope traffics ok but will call Donna in the AM. See you tomorrow!
Hi everyone! Thanks for the nice company today. Sorry I can't make it Monday - do remember to send a picture of the flowers!
Donna, here is the plant I told you about http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/99200/index.html
I'm glad more pictures have been added to mine - the color variations are really interesting.
I will Kathleen. I'll take a picture of it now with not so many blooms and then when they're all opened up, I'll send another.
It was such a nice day. We ate good, we worked and just had fun. Doinna's home is absolutely incredible. The traffice home wasn't bad at all. It took me an hour to get home with a little congestion here and there especially around the 91, of course, but not too bad.
Thanks for a great day girls...(Mike, missed you.) See you all Monday.
hugs,
Hi Louise,
Yes, it was a fun day, though I didn't feel like I'd done much! You and Arlene did a lot.
I started to answer your question about cacti - we have a strip by the drive where we're growing them and we can probably fit 8-10 more in. If they are small, a dozen or so? Don't worry - I'm talking about the high end - a few or many will be welcome. Thanks.
Sorry I missed you all! I am feeling a bit more myself (not quite all there yet, but better).
I had the Marguerita BOP and she was lovely, but went bye-bye one day when I wasn't looking. I always blame on my heavy clay (it's under everything even if I improve!) and then over or under watering... but you never know, it might be a incompatible companion plant or a too-enthusiastic neighbor's cat!
Glad you had a good day!
~'spin!~
You did plenty Kathleen. You were working before I got there. I'm sure Donna appreciates all you did.
I have at least 10 I'll be digging of the cactus and if you don't want more, that's ok too. I'll just bring what I dig and I'm sure someone will take them. Plumerias...here I come!
I can't thank all you lovely women for all the work you did for me in making those great labels. Arlene said you made 53 or 63 labels (can't remember right now) lol
I sure wish the day was longer as I was enjoying everyones company so much.
Spending the day with gardeners and talking gardening is one of my favorite things.
After everyone left, I finally potted up the little seedlings into their own pots. Boy, were those roots little and fragile. I sure hope they make it now.
Arlene, thank you again for bringing your P Touch and tapes and for inviting all these wonderful ladies to help.
Spin, sorry you couldn't make it and hope you get to feeling better real soon. See you next month.
Mike....you missed a great lunch!!!!! lololol
Hugs to all,
Donna
Donna, thanks for all the little goodies that I brought home and immediately potted and planted! I sure cherish my gifts from DGers. The seeds critterologist gave me are sprouting quite nicely.
It was so good to spend the day with you ladies, your knowledge of plants is incredible.
Yup, Mike, sorry you missed the food!!! Cluck, cluck, cluck!
Awwwwww! Aren't we cute!??!?!!?
Thanks Donna! Thank your crabby neighbor too!
Aren't we just? Thanks, Donna. It was a fun day and your garden is beautiful.
what a good-looking bunch of ladies!
Awwwww, shucks!
Donna, somebody's been stealing your polliwogs! http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/713256/
Rusty, you are becoming one traveling woman - look forward to seeing your pictures at the roundup.
Did anyone take a picture at Weegy's place?
Thanks! I will bring all the photo album books....
Kathleen,,,,yes he looks very familiar. :-)
Donna
Wow! I just found this! Yes I'll be there; yup, I was there; great lunch, great chat, Donna's garden is beautiful.
Monday was great at Weegy's and we met her lovely mother; lovely iris garden, lovely back yard! (and I scored two iris!)
Got home in time to pack and leave the next morning for IA only to get there and find out I was a day early! $40 cab fare back to Orange. But had a whole day to work in the garden at Meadowbrook! A good thing!
Love you all!
But where are the pictures? :-(
No pictures here but Mike got some at the garden. There's a picture of us above at Donna's.
Yoo-hoo, Mike!
Oh, Miiiiiikkeeeee . . .
