Spring is Here! First Bulb Blooms....
Ann, those are adorable little tulips. Are they species tulips?
Joanne
They probably are but I have no idea WHAT species. They've been there for years. Most of my tulips quit after a couple of years and have to be replaced; so I don't really keep track.
I have some Tulipa Tarda but it will be awhile before they bloom. They also produce seed which will, in time come pretty true to the plant.
Ann
fancyvan,
I must sneak by your house to see your species tulips when bloom - I remember that you showed me where they are on Sunday. I really like the little critters. I put in some short tulips (6") that are called Kaufmanniana Waterlily. The package calls them "Botanical Tulips". Haven't seen any sign of them yet.
Joanne
No need to sneak Jo.
I'lllet you know when to come by.
I have Kaufmania Waterlily somewhere too.
Todd my reticulata iris have been blooming for a couple of weeks too - in and out of the snow!
I have nothing blooming yet, though lots of crocus foliage is up and a few tulips leaves as well. Parts of my yard are still kind of frozen. However, with temps forecast to be double-digits this week, I'm sure things will start coming out.
Joanne
Looking good Todd. Surely that heat will get to you someday. Have faith!
Todd, as usual you take great photos!
Ann, lovely Tulips!
Thanks for the compliment Joanne :)
Steven
