is that a perrenial ?

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

Paul - We don't know yet...but it probably is a perennial...most perennials have larger seeds than annuals...

Doesn't look like the same plant colorwise .. a good example of what chlorophyll production does.

Gotta love the shapes of undamaged cotyledons in the morning! Nice to see it "green up". - Arlan

Netcong, NJ(Zone 5b)

The double mono-lobe of each cotyledon on this as compared to the more usual bi-lobed structure(of Ipomoea) indicates to me that this species is either a relatively very old Ipomoea species or may turn out to be an older pre-Ipomoea species possibly something more closely related to the Merremia genus...

NIce clear photos with great color and detail for reference...

It's true leaves are just emerging. The shot on the left was the first and the shot on the right was about 1½ hours later. It's a lot cooler today so things are happening at a much slower pace.

The ISC was repotted into it's permanent home. I'm going to use the wood stakes when it gets big enough. Probably 5 of them and make a modified spiral with some cotton string so it will wind around the stakes and not up them.

Here is a link to the supersize picture (dial-ups beware, it's 5.2 megs).

The new leaves are coming along nicely. It has been cooler for the last few days so their growth is in slo-mo.
