In Northeastern Oklahoma, we are experiencing numerous
funny things that resemble a mosquito x ten.
Without a picture, could anyone help me figure out what this
weird thing is?

It's probably a Crane Fly or moquito hawk, here are some pictures:

Well, good, YW. I thought these ate other insects, but what I was reading says the adults just drink nectar (if anything) and breed. Not too bad.
