CLOSED: Lil' help...what are these?

Satsuma, AL(Zone 8b)

I assume that this is some sort of caterpillar? I don't really know anything about them other than they're all over my yard and trees and driveway, etc.

I found this "collection" of them in this trough and just had to take a pic and ask the question.

Thanks,
David

They look like Gypsy moth caterpillars to me.

I don't know why it's not showing the page, just google tent caterpillars images and it will describe them....they have some blue dots on their sides. I couldn't tell if yours have those.

If they are tent caterpillars you should have tents in your trees, a sure sign.

I don't see any tents yet. I will keep looking, thanks all.

It looks like there are small, faint blue dots on the sides. If I get home tomorrow and there's enough light, I'll get a closeup shot where you can tell.

Thanks,
David
