It's lily planting time! :*)

Got some lilies in the ground (clay). Wow 60's & 70's in March :*)

Enjoy the Sun,

Can hardly wait! Supposed to be in the mid-70's here for the next several days.

I've been having fun in my neck of the woods too.

What???!!!!
I am still looking at 6" of snow in ugly greywhite melting piles.....no chance in you-know-where am I gonna be able to plant lilies anytime soon.

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

If I had the $$$ I would have bought one of those augers to dig 12" down into the clayish soil instead of using a hand trowel... The day was awesome though :*)

It is so wet here that if I dug a hole to plant lilies they would need little life jackets. Temps are wonderful, now if the rain would just ease up a bit.....

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

89 degrees here today and lilies popping out all over.

It snowed here overnight! :(

Greenwood, IN(Zone 5b)

Lots of Asiatics up here; only 71 degrees right now. Temps have been wonderful here....not cold at all but also not hot. Maybe hit 80 a couple of days ago. Looks like rain; hope it finally comes.

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

It's 65 here today, but it's pretty much nothing but mud in the flower beds at the moment. I suppose the best use of my time (while not on here ;) ) would be out picking up sticks.... :)

Yep, lots of sticks and left-over leaves to pick up here, an arbor to finish sand, prime and paint...

Lisbon, IA(Zone 5a)

You are way more energetic than I plan on being today. I plan on just kinda putzing around and enjoying the sun and warmth and if some stick picking up gets done, well, all the better. ;) I know how I like to pick up sticks... ;(

Moby is your arbor flat or is it the four pillar type? I found this site, http://www.trellisstructures.com/arbors/neoclassical-arbor.html tried to get my father to help emulate it but he didn't bite :*(. The cedar and other stuff was $$$, cheaper to build than buy though.

Oh, nothing that fancy! It's not that I'm that energetic, just under the gun. lol The transplanted clematis are sitting in the old veggie garden and starting to grow. Need to get them to their permanant home.

that's beautiful Moby :-)

Thank you ~ that garden was at my old house. Right now I'm just trying to figure out a place to put this thing. They're 10 year old clematis and survived the move in November, now I have to move them again and am not sure they'd appreciate being relocated any time soon.

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

It's raining outside and sinking my lily food into the ground. When it dries a bit, I need to put in a couple more orienpets that just arrived: Satisfaction, Boogie Woogie plus asiatic Strawberry and Cream.
Looks like I have a few MORE lilies coming too--sooo late!

Haydenville, MA(Zone 5a)

good grief, our last frost date is around Memorial Day.....right now the ground is soggy and half frozen with piles of melting snow....last thing I am worrying about is planting anything outside!
Now, I do need to get the lily babies out of the fridge into some pots.....

Fox River Valley Are, WI(Zone 5a)

Glad I checked my make shift greenhouse. The heater didn't turn on... emergency evac tonight!

Cedar Rapids, IA(Zone 5a)

Half frozen ground is okay. Can you get a shovel thru it to plant?
