Geez Louise, RAIN already!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Debbie, I can't believe all those rain lilies you have. Didn't know there were that many. Fortunately most of them don't seem suited for my zone. That makes the decision process easier for me.:) I like the yellow and the pink ones. Of the ones that are supposed to make it in this zone, are there any that would be easier than others?

Also can you bring a calla? I know it'll have to go in the gh for the winter, but they are so beautiful. Will they overwinter in a gh?

I feel like we hijacked this thread. Sorry Larrissa.

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Actually the vast majority of them are suitable to your zone Mary Lee--in fact, most of my original stock came from San Antonio. The person that has done the greatest amount of work with them lived and worked in San Antonio. I was going to start a thread tonight on them--but it will have to wait an hour, the Soprano's are on. =)

I, TX(Zone 8a)

We have rain!!! Almost 3 inches. I bet the folks at the lake are happy as water is running in the creeks that feed the lake. Hopefully the lake levels will be up.

I hope it thunders and rains all night. Can you all tell that I am excited. Stay safe everyone.

We are still waiting down here; it's on its way. They are expecting it this evening.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Debbie, I'll wait for the thread. I don't know how I can choose a rainlily, because there are so many of them, but I know I like those calla lilies.:)

Chappell Hill, TX(Zone 8b)

Doing the happy dance, it started raining here, west of chappell hill, about 15 minutes ago.

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

It's raining cats and dogs here.....I've got lakes in my backyard....again. At least now the plants are in the ground so they can take advantage of it. If they don't drown!

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

It's either feast or famine - rained for hours, still drizzling...

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

The storms are literally just starting here. The thunder rolled in 10 minutes ago and here come the down pour. Woo Hoo!

2 Weeks ago, we were drenched and I didn't want to see rain for awhile. I'm glad it's back because the temps have been in the 80's and I'm tired of watering.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

HI Kristi ~ Watering already ~ I have been resisting ~ amazing it is so early. A sprinkle overnite only here.
Sticks ~ no Roundtop this year but one of these days... : )

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

silver....OMG ...major antiques, stuff, decor, junque, show in fields and fields and fields ....it is down by you ....it has come to be the largest show in the US; only 2 times a year....

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I got almost 2" at my house yesterday -- a nice long soaking rain event. I'm very happy and, better yet, my plants and lawn are ECSTATIC!! And I think it woke up my snoozing yellow Esperanza. Life is good.

isn't rain great? maybe we should bottle it??

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

We got 3/4 of an inch, very gentle and very much appreciated.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sticks&stones, I guess you're talking about Trade Days? That's about 2 miles from our house. We know some people who used to have a booth there. They also owned or atleast ran the "beer hall". It's kind of an interesting place.

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

We got about the same amount as you Josephine--I think the front pulled up north more at the last minute.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

silver...i dont think that is what i am talking about....but could be...i didnt think it was that close to fredricksburg....here is the link:

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sticks, yes you're right. You were talking about something different. Probably much better than trade days.

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

Must have gone due north. We squeezed out a meager (but grateful) 4/10's of an inch...

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

omg...if you haven't gone and love stuff....well this is the place to go...; i go 2 times a year

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

ah pod...sorry you didn't get much......sending good vibes that way!!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sticks, I don't usually go to things like that. I have so much stuff already. I have been tempted to go sometime and look for interesting things I could use in the yard to plant things in though.

Crosbyton, TX(Zone 7a)

garage and estate sales may provide to you just the great containers you need.....i go cause it is an bi annual event for my girlfriend and i to get together and see each other....she and i live 6 hours away from each other and only see each other 2 times a year....; we both own corgis and stay at a bed and breakfast there where there are 2 corgis in residence....go figure, we go there to see corgis when we live with 2 each.....hmmmmm makes a lot of sense(grin)

Lumberton, TX(Zone 8b)

Still waiting. The rain barrels are almost empty and I resorted to the hose this morning.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I know I should be grateful that the rain finally came, but would it be selfish to wish for the sun to come out now?

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sticks, I probably would find more than I have money to pay for, but maybe some day. Anything I bought would have to go outside the house, cause I'm trying to clean out the inside. I saw something on Discovery channel about some little animal that was cleaning out its burrow. I'm reminded of that everytime I start cleaning again.lol

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

Larissa, we may not see the sun again around here until Saturday. Hopefully we'll get some good rain (I hope a great deal will fall on area lakes) and then it will clear up and we'll have a beautiful weekend. No flooding, torrential rains, hail, or tornados please.

Carla
