I do have 3 friends who have seen some of my brugs and are begging me for some. Mine are not ready to be cut back yet , too young.

Wineaux: hey how ya been? Sure can send you some cuttings, let me see how many i have left I have. I have three others in front of you so I'll get back to you, Ok? I have to go out and count how many I have too.

My mother would die for a peach and I would love a frosty pink. If there are any available. I would be happy to pay postage or trade some polymer crystals for brugs. Well JanLynn.. you won't need any more of those do you?! LOL Please let me know. I have some white I started this winter.. I sure hope I can grow them well here. I just have to protect them from the afternoon sun.

That is too cool! SA brugs... wonder if they have an 'accent'?! The two whites I put in 5 gallon pots seem to be very happy so I need to get my other white into one. These are cuttings I started this winter. I know it will be much happier. I got lucky when a nursery here was closing and I got at least 10 5 gallon black nursery pots.. they heavy ones for .10 cent each. That was aIl I could find or I would have had more. LOL My pink and yellow brug cuttings rotted before they rooted this winter. Bummer!

Hi Janlynn, when did you start your brug? As soon as someone will give me a cutting I will
be starting. Hope I make it for the summer blooms. Seems I am always a dollar short and
a day late. (LOL)
Janlynn, Lhasalover,Wineaux,
Ok I tracked down some of those small triangle boxes for shipping and the brugs look great ready to ship . I can ship Monday morning if its ok with you guys.
Two brugs each sound good?
Ok Just make sure you all email me your addy.
Thanks much ,
GG
I would love one of your peach..I sent you D-mail... I have several different cuttings I can send you.
I cut all the brugs back in the greenhouse and have 7 more here in the house to cut back..
Peggy
I can't wait... I was just outside looking at my rooted cuttings.. I don't know how it happened but the top half out of my largest one got broken off! Waaaaaah. I really wanted to cry seeing all those beautiful wilted leaves. What will it do now? I know it is a white one... I think the name is Snow White.
Tammie
Ok Folks ,
Those of you waiting for brugs this Monday,
Sorry to say I have a bug problem going on with them and the brugs outside.
I have to figure out what I have .
This is the first time I've had this problem and it seems to be wide spread.
I have pic's of the buggers if anyone can take a look and tell me how to treat best .
I cant get a really good pic thats the best one I can get.
I have a problem outside too. I just went out side to look at my brugs really closely because all the leaves are turning yellow and sure enough I have the same bugs plus more on the ones out side.
I will hold off for now on shipping
If those of you that are familiar with bugs on brugs could take a look at the pic's and let me know what you think it its. I'd like to start to treat tomorrow.
Thanks ,
Really sorry about this but I'm sure I will be cleared up soon.
Thanks,
GG
GG,
The best I can tell from you picture, it looks like that it is aphids that have infested your plants. I know that is not good, but it is better than broad mites.
Depending on how many and how large the plants are, you may be able to buy a bottle of ready to use spray. If you have a lot of plants or if they are large it may be best to buy something that you can add to water and then spray.
There are many different products that will take care of the aphids, so you can make that choice. You also can rinse the plants with a stream of water and it will get rid of most of the aphids.
Hope someone else will chime in to give you some advise.
Ok thats what I thought but they are so small and hard for me to see. I dont have the best eye sight. LOL
It seems to have spread to all my plants and cuttings.
I've also gone out and taken a very very good look at the brugs outside
and I also see white fly's along with little bugs green in color like the ones inside. They almost blend in with the leaf.
Well lets see what they say at the garden center .
Thanks for the input.
GG
Good luck getting red of those ugly buggers... I am still fighting white flies... hate those things. I completely understand your situation.
Tammie
Does anyone know if I can treat these and still ship on Monday or will I risk passing it along to others and there plants?
I am on my way to HD to pick up treatment.
anyone know of one that works best?
Thanks,
GG
Oh also would this be the cause of my leaves turning yellow?
also something is making Swiss cheese out of one of my brugs
Update:
Ok I just sprayed all the cuttings with Insecticidal Soap. Hope it works.
Now I'm off to the outdoors to wash down the ones out in the garden.
Will update again if all goes well I will ship Monday .
GG

Hi,
Here is one grown by a net friend who is over in Australia. I'd love to get one like it but I haven't been able to find one. Because of regulations she is unable to send me cuttings and hers never sets seeds so she can't send those either.
Does anyone know of a source with this one?
Thanks!

I was born in Brooklyn! Haven't lived there since the early 1970's though so it has become a foreign land to me. Sounds like you were mostly between NYC and Albany.
How do you like Florida? Did you get into Brugs down there or move there cause it was good for your Brugs ? :-)
JanLynn,
My friend doesn't know. To her they're just regular plants. They grow in the ground for her, just a part of her landscaping. She says they flower several times a year but never set seed. I'm not sure the picture shows it but they are red and yellow (no orange). Now she calls them daturas but I was reading here that daturas are not brugs so I'm a bit confused. Is this a case of mis-identification or different countries using different common names??
MollyD
Hey Molly,
I love Florida I will never go back.
I can garden all year and I just love it.
I just happened to get a brug and got hooked when I came down
to Florida.
I just cant get enough of them. LOL
Some of them smell so good! and the flowers are awesome
last night my Tequila sunrise had the whole garden smelling just scrumshus
The plant your looking for is not a Brug
its a Datura and they are two different things
Im going to email you a link to some sites Where you can buy some.
I heard they dont grow true from seed. But I've never tried.
They have the plant in one of the sites for 19.99
Check out the sites and let me know what you think.
Ok for now.
I just ordered the seeds for it. Seems this particular one is a rare brugmansi (according to Valley Grow -second link you gave me) and it's one of the few that grows true from seed! I'm getting 10 seeds. They estimate two years to flowering. I can wait for something so beautiful!
I lived in Florida many years ago when I was a young girl. I didn't like it then cause it was too hot for me but I suspect that now I would appreciate that warmth more!
Thanks for finding that plant for me.
MollyD
Wineaux...... I need your addy.
Hurry going to post office in a couple of minutes
