HELP!! I am trying to find David's Lily

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I am trying to find some David's Lily bulbs (lilium davidii) to send to BamaBelle whose husband David recently passed away.

Here is the link to what I want in plant files
http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/108773/index.html
I have contacted the one vendor listed and they are sold out of everything. :(

I think it is odd that they say they have these available spring and fall and yet they are sold out of everything in their catalog and it isn't even spring yet. Oh well....

Now that I have found this particular lily, I am on a major search to find it.

I hope some of you lily experts can help me.

I couldn't find anything on a quick search. You might try contacting LilyLover_UT (who posted the pic) and see if they might tell you where they got a bulb.

Did this just lappen in the last week? I was following some of the threads in the Pets forum and she was posting about her cats and her husband being ill. How sad.

Yes, it was 4am night before last. Yes very very sad.

It is all in the prayer forum, 'DH terminal' thread. It is very long now and takes awhile to load for us dial-upers.

If you cannot find davidii anywhere i the US, mostCanadian nurseries carry it.

Susan,
You are the thoughtful one. I'm just happy I could help it happen.

I bet those will be really nice bulbs, better than you can get anywhere else. I have davidii seed but I guess that would take too long.

When am I ever going to get to try eating my davidii bulbs? (This is the species grown as a crop in China.) I am again down to 2 bulbs after giving my others away. They certainly have become popular all of a sudden. I now know how I can prepare them for consumption. Tastes sort of like water chestnuts, they say.

Okay, I have a question about the Canadian nursery....I see they ship to the US, but I was asked if I would be charge a Photo-something certificate before I could get them? Something about checking them for disease that I would need to pay for before they could be delivered to me...hope that makes sense...I would love to have some tof the Davidii too...they are just beautiful!

Live plant tissue needs to be checked and OK'd before it crosses country borders. Were they asking if you were aware of this? What some folks do is see if a friend wants to combine orders and share the expense ~ around $25 for the phytosanitary certificate, last I knew.

I'll look for that thread where I did the break even point for ordering from the Lily Nook.
