Rabenda Tasogare is a name that originated in the US intended to describe a 'japanese' type MG...it's a lavender with a white edge...I'm waiting for the 'originator' to come along and > 'fess up(!)...

Try using one of the japanese to english translators just for fun and see what you get(!)...

I'm pretty sure that is one of Janis' Blooms that she sold on eBay last year....
Hey, what in the world happened to her???

Named with 'my' help. *ha* [At least I 'think' this is Janis'].
That was when we thought it was 'cute' to translate the names of our variants and/or crosses into Japanese, until at least "I" realized that this REALLY isn't a Japanese MG and stopped doing that.

At least it was fun while it lasted.

I know I did that with my 'Lavender Mist' for a while, and since I can't find my Japanese Dictionary, I can't remember how to spell 'Mist' in Japanese.
Rabenda is Lavender

Right, MGJ???

I need to go round up my J-Dictionary.

I found an old thread from Janis that describes it as a lavender. I think I'll grow these out and see what I come up with...

'the beautiful pale purple I'm calling Rabenda Tasogare"

Hi Ronnie!

I responded to your D-mail before seeing this thread! The above is correct and validates my memory! - Arlan

Hi Emma, yes Rabenda is Lavender. The R have the L sound in Japanese... All those MG you post are nice looking. Who has the most beautiful original MG picture? Let's start a contest and I'll provide the winner with some rare MG samples and then some.

Thanks Arlen, I think we are all going to have pretty lavender flowers this year!!

MGJ, a contest sounds like fun but I know for me there is some stiff competition!!

Houston, TX

Yeah that's what I had in mind something that would be fun and competitive. One original MG picture per entry.
I'll start a new thread if other members want to participate..

MGJ -

Neat Idea!

I'll miss out most of the day as I have a speech to do today at Master Gardeners about MGs, so will catch up late this afternoon.
