CLOSED: Quick is this a good bug or a bad bug!?!?!

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

If it's a good bug I gotta go let them out of the jar I have them in before they die!

I figure it's a bad bug, but wanted to make sure - there were 4 (that I found) climbing over a rose bush.

Bad Bug...Green Stinkbug...plant juice sucker....send them to Bug Heaven.

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

Thank you Melody!
I don't know why they are all over my 1 rose.... I have over 120 roses in my garden and they are just attacking that one
(I guess I should be grateful)

What does one use to send them to bug heaven??? The ones I've seen are solid green.

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

this was solid green... kind of blended right into the foliage, except the foliage was new and had a purple tint.
Usually I call M to "dispose" of them,
Today not wanting them to get away while I posted this question I captured them and sealed them tight in a mason jar.

How do you get rid of them forever?
I dunno...

They probably hatched out on that plant and just hadn't decided to expand their territory yet, but look under the leaves on your other roses just in case. About any rose-safe insecticide will do them in, but if you've got eggs, I'm not sure if it will kill those. You may have to spray several times if you have the eggs. The eggs are usually round to barrel shaped and layed in clusters...they will vary in color, but most are brownish or reddish. Stink bugs like to suck the juices from new flower buds...(like rose buds) but are more of a vegetable garden pest, as they like new veggies too.

I'm sure I have something on hand to control stink bugs, I just don't know which particular remedy I should use. Anyone have an idea???

Columbus, OH(Zone 5b)

I'll have to head out and look for eggs today. Catching them early is the key.

Sherry, I garden organically and aside from neem oil and diatomaceous earth I rely on finding the little buggers and knocking them off one by one.
An arduous task at times.

Sherry,
I found a thread in the Organic Gardening forum about Stink Bugs and June Bugs
http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/690766/

I'm gonna give it a go
