Last year I tried growing a few mutants but they did not flower. Only long vines with willow like leaves. Will purchase a few of these to try this year. The seller` description follows....
`The change morning glory * The blue strike Sakai eddy Yanagiba circle ・ccedil; The morning glory leaf is round, long and narrow like the leaf of the willow.
As for the flower purple center will change to pink.`
I will trade a few of these with those who are currently trading with me.

Those are AMAZING - so pretty - thanks for sharing!
The blue one is really nice!! The white one ain't so bad either!!
Yes, they are rare and unique looking MG species. I will grow around 70 different type this season not counting the mutant ones nor the crossing that I'll also be doing. It's an exciting project for me and with the information readily available here should be fun.
Quite unusual flowers there! I must say that I get a bit confused by some of the descriptions..!! The reference to "stone pavement" in the second entry is used to describe the flower that results from the criss cross gene.....but it is the first picture that looks more like the criss cross flowers I have seen and read about.....so I've got a lot to learn! The term translated as "blue" is typically used to describe a green leaf, and I often must correct myself from thinking blue flower instead...
The white flowered plant should be especially interesting as the term petrochemical is used to describe a fasciated plant, or one that has deformed stems forming wide ribbons. There are three different genes associated with fasciation in the JMGs. I'm not sure if all three must be present for the plant to show any fasciation, or if the various combinations of them create different types of fasciation. This will be a fun one!
Arlan
Arlan, I will make sure that I send you some of these seeds since you do a lot of follow up on the translated descriptions. Reading your comments put a nice spin on the meaning and a different perspective view too. I really appreciate your time and effort. Yes this will be a fun and learning growing season.
All are so pretty....especially the first Blue photo.
I really like that one.
MGJ we are going to really look forward to blooms of all that you will be growing this year - and how exciting that you are going to be doing cross-pollinating as well.
I have quite a few different 'Feathered-Types' that I will be growing this year that I will be cross-pollinating and hope to be able to come up with some really nice variations.
Emma
Hey Emma, I'll be using a plant and seed tracking software to record my work from the beginning. The software program is very user friendly and the fields are predefined but they can be altered to any specs. Last year I grew a lot but did a poor job of recording things but not this year. I like what you are doing with MG and that kind of inspired me to be more proficient. The project will be made availabe for all to see.
HI Dee,
Still trying to catch up on the Threads - so just now reading this.
THANK YOU for the wonderful compliment, Dee. . .
Your plant and seed tracking software sounds very interesting. I will look forward to seeing your results - sounds like something I need instead of using spread sheets.
Thanks Dee,
Emma
I love the pictures. Keep them coming.
Thanks Guys and stay tune. I'll be away for a few days so I can start working on this empty lot. I'm going to build a platform to protect my plants from the elements. We have a rainy and typhoon season starting in June. Also where I live the weather will be hot until around mid october.
Karen I love what you are doing with your JMG. Emma and Ron keep enlightening us with your explainations. I've learned a lot here in a very short time. TTYL.
Dee
