WOW Clare, that is HUGE!!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hi Kell! That is in Robert's front yard. He had much bigger ones, but they were all destroyed by the hurricanes. He lives in Florida. Plumerias get to be 30 feet or taller in areas like Australia, Hawaii, and Thailand.

Gosh, we if could stand the humidity, we need to move!!!

I was lucky enough to get to cut one back that size the owner wanted it cut way back. Told me had to haul the stuff away lol love too. Almost a truck load it was a nice pink with a yellow center 25 yr old grown in Tampa Bay. Wish I had taken a picture of it.

Kell, it's not the humidity that I'm scared of. It's those darn hurricanes! There are some pretty nice-sized trees all over Southern California too. I see them when I have to get off the freeway due to a jam. I'll take the back streets of L.A. to get where I am going, and I'll see them in people's front yards. Here's another big one, but I'm not sure where it is. It is your color though;-)

Dana, lucky you! I hope you grew some of the cuttings and made them into new trees!

Oh my, what a picture Clare. Just amazing. It is so full and look at that trunk. I have never seen one so full.

Do you think they had to keep pruning it to get it so full? Was the scent mesmerizing?? Did you just die when you saw it? How old do you think that is?

Kell, my bad, hon. I should have clarified the picture. These are just pictures that I have saved on my hard drive and not one that I've taken. I've never stopped to take a picture when I'm in L.A. These bigger trees usually have not been pruned in a long time, which is why they get so big. They branch every time they flower. There are plumeria trees in Florida and Southern California that are probably 30-40 years old. Here is a picture of a tree that I think is in Anaheim. I think someone named Jim took this picture.

I hope they all did OK in the deep freeze last month. They are just beautiful!

Me too, Kell. I bet they are fine. I know some trees in El Monte got some frost damage and branch dieback, but a tree that size would not be killed.
