So cool!

I begged and begged....and she wouldn't let anyone else bunk with her.

LOL.....and she thinks that's real mosquito netting, doesn't she Mary?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Geez Veronica, and here I had you No.1 on my cuttings list. Erase that. And here I thought you were my buddy!!

Tony, can't you see my PINK hair there as I save you, it being square or not. Kind of obvious. The flowers are a dead give away.

Gosh Mary, poor Tony was depending on going to Costa Rica for a quick nose. The shark ate his. I think the new you looks kind of cute.

Hey Brinda, when you auditioned to be my roomie, you were sooooooo slow!! You need to move much faster when I snap my fingers.

After waiting for Kell to fix her pink locks since she didn't have her usual servants at her beck and call, we got a late start. Hours later we're in Columbia. We're heading into the wild lands. The boys have made a make-shift bridge over a canyon that we must cross on our quest. Did I happen to mention there's not much in the way of infrastructure in the wild and woolly parts of this country.

For the next gorge to cross our heroes decided it would be easier to just hook up some zip lines.

Here's Brinda showing off her newly acquired ziplining skills when we crossed the 3rd canyon. Wheeeeeeeee!

When gathering sticks to make a small campfire, we just happened upon this.

Kell actually thought this stick bug was a stick and tried to toss it on the campfire

Gosh Mary, I am still back at the camp. I wanted to thank you for doing my wash.

I have 1 question, where did Alistair go off to??

Thumbnail by Kell
Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Shoot, I should take more trips like this! I look like I've lost weight!!!!!

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Kell, I am. It's just that I got caught up in old memories. We used to take our 4th graders camping and gold panning on the other side of Sonora. The memory of sleeping in a leaky tent with several talkative girls while trying to keep an eye on a sleep walker while my fellow teachers camped along the periphery without student company came rushing back. (Puppy dog sad eyes) :-(

Did it work? Honestly, we took our 4th graders gold panning for 5 years when I taught that grade. A year after several of us moved up to teach 5th grade the whole fell apart. Our replacements couldn't handle it.

Watch out for those deadly spiders.

Kell that one is beautiful! Definitely another one to drool over! I luv the Cubanola domingensis to. A special seed friend sent me a couple of seeds for this one. I'm so nervous to start them.

I guess this what happens when you snooze....you miss the boat! Shucks I need to go on a warm trip to. It start to snow here again and I just want to see green outside instead of inside. Kell luv your new pink locks! I think I have your daughter living with us.
:) Donna

The men (From now on called our heroes) went looking for better accommodations for the night.

A certain high maintenance gal didn't think that was good enough, so I guess we'll be staying here instead. Leave it to her to want a castle in the the middle of the jungle.

Little does she know that we put one of these in her room. The spider, not the flower.

Did you hear her scream?!! Surely, you must have, even thousands of miles away.

After that she insisted on a bug proof hammock.

I had to resort to bug spray for the rest of the campground.

Hey Donna, you and Veronica can jump on a jet ski and get here in no time. I need you both to come.

I think I need some body guards. Mary is getting so testy. LOL

I can see that....lol! I think she inhaled to much bug spray fumes...lol.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

I agree....I think Mary did inhale too much bug spray.

But Kell...I have to say, what's up with that 5 o'clock shadow? Have you ever heard of waxing? Or maybe even a razor for that stuff.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey Brin, I AM out in the jungle you know. And I AM eating big black spiders because Mary is trying to kill me. Give a hairy girl a break. GEESH!!

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm irritable because of this survivor style diet of bugs and grubs. I need chocolate, and I need it now!!!

Edited for spelling. See what low blood sugar will do to you!

Oh Mary is finally happy, Alistair gave her a chocolate covered cricket to munch.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

She swallowed that so fast I didn't get a picture till she downed her second one.

Brin is making Mary chocolate covered scorpions. What a friend.

Gordon has slacked off lately but is now making up for it by making us scorpion soup with the left over a scorpions. What a guy.

MmmMmmmMmmm....I'm starving!!! Especially now after seeing that big pot of soup.

Mary....well, she's gonna be late for dinner. She grabbed every last chocolate covered scorpion and went running for the woods! All I could hear was her screaming!!! "They're mine...ALL MINE!"

OH..Kell... back in the states... I lost the possible sprouting yellow...I had thought it was comming up.. as it hit the air it fadded to nothing...it was the one you had and I thought was so grand and large... I did see one in Panama about like it.. gigantic by our standards... at the Dracula Orchid facility there. this was it.... there... Gordon

Oh, look who's parachuting in to join us! It's Delisa ..... and she brought along some freeze dried food and 2 Godiva bars. I'll fight you for the chocolate!

How appropriate that there's a big spider on her parachute. Fits right in with what we've been seeing down here.

Her husband John was going to come along but they couldn't find a parachute that was heavy duty enough to carry his little tractor down to terrafirma, and he wasn't leaving without it. Dang - we could have used it to make a new path through the jungle.

Kell and Brinda mud wrestle for the last remaining godiva chocolate bar.

Kell,
You and Brinda could use a portable shower. You wouldn't want to bathe in some of those waterways. Little fishes with strange habits reside there. For several good cuttings (enough for myself and some to share with the pilot, I might be able to talk a neighbor, the one with a helicopter, to fly over and drop a Care Package. Do you know your GPS co-ordinates? I might be able to manage a 50-lb load. What do you need besides the shower? Do you still Donna and me as bodyguards or have you settled your differences? Who got the chocolate?

You are all having a bit toooo much fun...LOL
Your all a Hoot...

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Oh Betty, what a disaster it was! We need more than a shower now. We wrestled for that Godiva bar for a little too long. Ended up that after the wrestling match and us making a decision to split the bar, well....it had melted in all that mess. Now we're hungry (I'm starving, that scorpion soup didn't turn out to be as tasty as I thought it would) and we're muddy.

And I am NOT going to the water hole to clean up. I'm not sure where Kell went...hopefully she didn't wonder down to the water hole, there were some ugly creatures in there.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Betty, I'm a betting woman, and I am betting that Mary does have some kind of GPS. She's been on top of so many things on our trip and I just can't imagine that she would forget something like that. Hopefully she didn't wonder out into the jungle and get eaten by something big and ferocious. Where are you Mary???

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Hey Betty since they don't seem to need us anymore, but I think their day at the beauty spa sure benefits from a rain dance. Are you ready!!!

rain, rain, rain.....rain, rain, rain.....dance, dance dance.....rain, rain, rain.......rain, rain, rain.....dance, dance, dance....this is sure exhausting.

Betty get your butt off the ground!! I can't do this all by myself!!!

Get ready!!!

rain, rain, rain..............
