I found him scurrying about the garden. I hope it's a good bug.

He is mostly a dull black with some red spots underneath, on his legs and tail end.

It's a Bordered Plant Bug. There's a Family of these bugs called Largidae, and this looks like it's in the genus Largus. They're pests in some situations
