Feline Friends

New Hampshire, NH(Zone 5b)

This thread is a continuation of a previous thread where Miss Whispurr Willow and Sir M&M first met and became friends. Certainly all friends (feline or not) are welcome to jump in and meet new friends here too. Previous thread: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/693035/

Dear M&M,

I wanted to say good night before mum shuts off the computer. I hope you're still awake and find our new thread! I've been thinking about what you said earlier about learning how to pray and I remembered a poem mum likes. She read it to me and and I like it too (it even has my name in it!!). Anyway, I thought I would type it here for you to read. I hope you like it.

In the wee small hours, as I often do, I awake.
And sitting there in the quieteness of that hour
I watch - and listen - and think.

As if bourn on the lift of summer night's zephyr, the night sounds come.
And my window, as a screen draped ear, hears all.

It hears the mournful bark of a far-off dog,
or the labored growl of a truck as it climbs a hill far down the state road.
And I listen.

It hears the choir of crickets and night chirpers sing their tuneless cacophony
or the distant rumble of a summer night's storm.
And I think.

It hears the voice of God. Quiet and reassuring.
And as clear as the sound of a whisper-stirred leaf, He tells me I am His own.
And I know.

Good night my friend.
