Turning Winter Blahs into Ahs

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

bettygail those pots u do not need to use . Use whats best for u .I Like

plastic , I give these as gifts as they kill my plants ,

I use plastic pots too and then just sit the plant with the plastic pot down into a more decorative container....sometimes a pretty flower pot, sometimes a vase, sometimes a candle holder! So Gail, if they are big enough, you could sit your little AV's in the plastic pot down inside them.

AV above is B=Mans Etnea I grew her from leaf , many of her and gave many plants of her and leaves away . I gave them all away. She never stopped blooming !
Look what one of her babies did !

Ok, well this photo isn't of AV's or other plants, but the topic was turning Winter Blah's into Aah's wasn't it? So, I thought I would throw in a photo of where we love to hang out in our boat during the summer! This is a photo of Ponce De Leon Lighthouse, and we take lunch and anchor our boat at an Island right across from the Lighthouse. The Island is known as "Disappearing Island" because at high tide, most of it is under water. During the summer on weekends there are hundreds of boats with families, children, dogs .... all anchor their boats, set up canopies, lawn chairs, grills and spend the day! We never go out on weekends much anymore ... too much boat traffic and people!

Y'all are quite welcome. Here's a nice shop of Sunset on the West Coast of Florida ... Longboat Key, Sarasota area. We trailer our boat over there for vacation sometimes ... this photo was taken last summer.
