gebera seed

Danielsville, GA(Zone 7b)

I have tried, unsucessfully to buy gebera seeds on eBay, at least 5 times, and what I just got in the mail, I would have been ashamed to have sent any one.Does any one know of a source for viable seed, and I'm not fussy about the color, etc.Have a look see at what I just recieved, and to think, they cost me $5.82. Beware of the "fluff bandits" on eBay

Been there, done that:LOL: A seller in Canada w/ gorgeous photos and several emails from different DGers refering them to actual photos of what viable seeds actually looks like. Apparently to no avail. I gave up on looking for seeds as the real deal is so pricey. If I find anything I'll post back although I'm sure you'll get either other answers or offers.

Sorry this is still going on.

Dead on with canada, and I doubt that most of these "sellers" would know a viable seed, if it tapdanced across their nose. Mike

Mike, I just sowed some that I saved from dead-heading in the fall. I kept the red seperate from the yellow ones. Do you know if they come true to color? If they germinate, I'll send you some of mine. Free.

To answer the first question; not likely, depending on grouping of the colors, and if they all bloomed together, if they did, bees polinated them, (if they are viable). I have bought a "eye make-up " brush to polinate with next year, bumble bees don't polinate as good as honey bees.Yes, I would love some seed, and I don't care what color combination they are. Would you want me to send sase, or could I send a stamp, I think 39 cent stamp LMK, thanks again. Mike

Let me take care of the 39 cent stamp because I don't know if they are viable or not. Between us both, maybe one of us can get some to germinate. I did notice that only a few had fat sticks below the umbrella fluff. Those I'm thinking may be viable. The majority have real skinny sticks at the end of the fluff. I did sow both to experiment. I'll send you some seperated by color just in case the bees were color coordinated.☺ I do have at least three parent plants in the garden; red yellow and orange. Are you in the address exchange? Going to the RU in May in Jonesboro? Just full of questions today. LOL

Deborh, yes, I'm in the exchange, and I plan on going to the RU color coordinated bees !! what a hoot! Laughter has been my meds, most of my life, and it works miricals.(Can't believe I misspelled gerbera), some of that is skipping through the keys.I believe that plantting the G seed with the skinny stick, is like going to a goat barn looking for wool.I'll see you at the RU, I hope, Mike
