Stressbaby,
Your a hot ticket!!!
We can always count on you....
KW
BC or Charlie's Solar Gro GreenHouse
I really like what you have done there, KW!
You have given me some ideas too. I like the stacking stones on either side of the door. I may do that too then.
You have finished up much more than I have. I still haven't finish the outside of my greenhouse yet. Maybe when things settle down and gets a bit cooler.
But love your pics of the gardens too. Look great.
What is that wood structure in the veg. garden that looks like a roof frame? For beans?
Carol
Daisy,
The A frame w/ the puppy next to it is an idea I had to save some space.
On one side we have regular size pumpkins and baby ones's. On the other side there are butternut squash and watermelon plants. They are all being trained to climb up the trellis & over the other side to save room in the garden.
Working out pretty good so far.
The Tee-Pee is for kentucky Wonder pole beans.
Daisy, I'll never really be done either...
paul, KW
Wow, what a great idea you have there!
And I love your pooch. He is a cutie!
Carol
Wow! KW, that all looks awesome. I have not finished the outside of my GH yet either. Definately like what you have done there and will most likely borrow (steal?) your ideas and use some of them here.
I had to go back up north for awhile so have been out of the loop here. Let me know if I can help with your weather station. I am sure you will not have any problems with the weather station itself, but if you are going to publish your data to the internet that takes a little geek work. I am more than happy to help, and if I can't solve it I know I can hook you up with a person that can. I really like mine. I was able to monitor things from up north while I was away. I also recently purchased an iPhone and just love how fast I can bring up my GH data from anywhere.
The GH looks great KW, I am sure you are going to enjoy it. A word of caution on caulking those bottom panels. I noticed the other day when I washed the outside of mine that the water pressure from the hose forced a little water up inside the poly where I thought I had a good seal. I will let it dry and reseal it. I thought I had been very careful, but apparently not careful enough. :)
SB and DD, I flew this time so did not get to take the side trip over to visit your GH's. Hope to make it by next trip.
Also I have been fortuanate so far with all the shade trees, I have not had to use the shade cloth I purchased. It has been pretty warm, but so far the GH has stayed cool enough. I actually don't get as much sun as I thought I would, but everything seems to be thriving ok.
Nautical
Nautical,
Glad your back. I still have not caulked the bottoms of the panels.. Lazy?
Too many other fun things to do? Lazy?
Do we caulk inside and outside on the BC greenhouse?
I should actually do it before it gets too dirty, I've got a lot of preparatory cleaning to do now.
The Davis weather station is working great so far. I only have One station and that is mounted away from the greenhouse. We plan to get another Temp/Hum. station for the GH also.
I'm waiting for Davis to release their new version of their weatherlink in Sept. then I would like to connect to the internet and all the fun stuff like you have done if I can figure it out.
Do you use weatherlink or Virtual Weather or ---- ?
I won't bother you until I learn a lot more and have some questions that are reasonable ..
I am excited about the whole thing as it will be great to have all this GH weather information available on a website anywhere you are etc.
Phone & e-mail alarms too!!!.
Well, thanks for your reply and advice. good luck.
KW
KW, Be sure to caulk inside and out. The issue is if water wicks up inside the poly, it will begin to grow algae and turn the poly green. Not sure how you would get that out of there.
I am running Virtual Weather Station V13.01.
I like it just fine, it has a lot of options on how you want the data displayed.
Nice night picture!
