Economical Plant Racks

Clatskanie, OR(Zone 9b)

I recently visited a thread for propagation and the discussion was about how expensive some of the highend mail order plant racks are and how to get the price down. One person posting recommended the stainless steel Bakers Rack from L0wes. This lady showed pictures, and it truely looked indestructible. Today is Sunday Feb 4th and in todays newpaper the Lowes sales pamphlet has the same baker's rack for $75, if any one is interested. It is 6 feet tall, x 18" deep, x 4 feet long. This is perfect for me because it will accomodate my 4 foot flourescent fixtures. Frank

Got one, and now I need to get the special lights from the Discount Hydroponics. Frank

Hi Frank,
I just wanted to mention that the shop lights at HD or Lowes work really well, use one warm bulb and one cold one (40 watts ea). It's been awhile that I visited the propagation forum here, they have tons of info on other alternatives to propagating.

I got a couple of those racks at Costco a couple of years ago, they have wheels and boy you should see me move them when company comes.. so easy.

you may be able to see the lights here.

I am pumped, I have everything now that I always wanted. Rack, lights, heat mats, thermostat, and those biodomes from Park Seeds those spongy inserts that they make. All I need now is spring.
Thanks for the tips. Frank
