For the frugal among us, Hineni has just emailed me a source of a free, downloadable alternative to Excel & other office software:
http://www.openoffice.org/
I haven't tested it yet because I have illusions of still getting something today besides cyberspace stuff, but I hope it's useful to someone. Keeping track of our morning glories is certainly easier with a database.
Critterologist brought to my attention last night a nifty new feature that Gardenwife and Dave have cooked up for us on DG that allows us to cut & paste just a single post at a time instead of an entire thread - imagine! no more hunting through long threads to find just the pithy post you want to ponder! Here's the post:

I think this will be a great research feature to use in tandem with our databases, or to store pithy posts in the "favorites" section, which I use like a file box, or in cyber"conversation", etc.
Have fun
karen
