I am just smart that way....LOL Actually I looked it up for you....I do have Spanish Speaking Landscapers though, they laugh at me because when they start talking to each other I tell them, to stop talking about me in Spanish and do it in English so I can defend myself! LOL They are great!

Critter: Yeah, I'm a big Duke fan too .... have always loved Coach K and his teams. This is an unusual year for them. Their game is coming on ESPN right now ... playing at Boston College. Wow! Lots and Lots of Snow up there in Boston! Duke has lost the last 4 in a row .... not like Duke at all! I am watching the Alabama/Florida game right now on television, Florida is down 11 at half time! I am also listening to a game on the internet while I'm typing! Can you tell I'm a Basketball Fan??!! It's funny ... everyone in my family is huge Football Fanatics and my DH still can't seem to explain that game to me. My hubby teaches at a Univeristy here locally ... that's the game I'm listening to right now, boo hoo, we are losing. We are a small school, affiliated with NAIA not NCAA. The team is down in Miami tonight and losing by 4 points with just 3 seconds left in the game. Game over. Season is almost over and we've had 4 players injured this year, which did not help. Maybe next year will be better.
Well .... I've gotten way off topic here, but hey talking about March Madness made me lose track, LOL.

Thanks folks, I'm ok. Just scared the day-lights out of me. I put a pot of dried black-eyed peas on to come to a boil. They did....and more. I intended to cut off the stove to just let the peas soak but forgot that part. I tried to grab the pot and throw it out the door when a bottom layer of the pot fell off onto the floor along with some type on inner layer of melting metal that splattered every where catching the floor on fire. Burned my foot when my bedroom shoe melted. Those little burned peas turned into lava rocks. Beatness thing I've ever seen.
The sevicepro people are coming in to clean up the smoke damage and they'll run an ozone machine for two days to hopefully clear out the smell. We'll have to leave (cat too) for the two days while they run the machine.
My foot is better today. Could have been alot worst. What a time to find out my smoke alarm didn't work.
Cordeledawg, sorry to hear about your ktichen. We lost our home and all in it on 3/1/03 to a fire.
None of us were hurt, so sorry about your feet. Take care of them and start planning your new kitchen.......... Will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
It took me forever to get the smell out of my hair, I finally cut it off. Everytime I laid down to sleep I would smell smoke. Probaly more mental than anything.

Cordeledawg: Wow! So glad you and family (cat too) are all okay. Fire is so scary. Your story has made me go and check our smoke alarm! Hubby usually checks it once a year, but I'm not sure when he did it the last time! I am so absentminded and remember a few years ago when I left for work about 7:15 a.m. and got home about 6 in the evening and had left the Iron on all day! It really scared me .... we have 4 cats, had 5 at that time and they liked to jump and climb. One loved jumping over to the ironing board and sleeping there, whenever it was up. I think guardian angels were watching over the house that day! I am always making sure now that nothing is left turned on when I leave the house, no dishwasher, no clothes dryer, washing machine, television ... nothing!
Thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery of your burned foot! Take care!

hey dawg (go DAWGS) ...........are you looking at floors yet? i know it's not the way you would have planned it but how wonderful to get a new floor. i have that pergo stuff on mine. got it at the habitat for humanity store. with 2 kids and 3 large dogs and a whole lot of mud it has held up well so far.
Barb, I've never heard of pergo. Is that ceramic tile? Tell me more. you can d-mail me if you want to.
Pergo is laminate flooring isn't it .... really pretty too!

yes it is wood laminate. and it has a thinnish pad under it. gives it everso slight of a give.
