She-elves are tall. On the other hand, hobbits are short . . .
Evil incarnate
Excuse my ignorance. But if tall is OK, I would recommend an oriental lily and/or delphinium.
Ignorance here too. I've never watched the movie.
How about Hesperis matronalis. Sweet Rocket. Makes a beautiful show in the spring.
runktrunk,
Sorry about your neighbor and the trees. I feel your pain.
Seandor,
I guess I do have a troll as a neighbor.
As to the reexplained evil ring I'd say it would have to be one of the invasive plants that chokes out native vegetation and alters the environment, as previously mentioned either purple loosestrife, multiflora rose, or my favorite choice Japanese honeysuckle.
Gram,
The fireflys made a come back here in the last 5 years. I think people are starting to use less pesticides and more native plant cover. I do have lots of mulch and slugs and an organic garden. I leave lots of plants standing all winter, so there are good spots for overwintering bugs. I also have lots of small brown DeKay snakes that returned. When they reproduced there was a mass exodus in the fall. I assume the babies needed their own territory? Many ended up in the streets, we had to capture them and help them cross. I should have made a sign, Drive Slowly, Check the Ground, SMALL SNAKE CROSSING.
What about Casa Blanca oriental Lily for Galadriel? It's tall, white, with a delicious scent? I am starting some blue delphinium - also some foxglove (Camelot series) maybe one of those could do for Arwin - or maybe a Clemantis???
Casa Blanca sounds perfect for Galadriel....I love it! maybe a clematis for Arwin..reaching up to the stars? there are quite a few with the word 'star' in the name
Okay - I will check the clemantis people for suggestions :-)
DEER
Neighbors ivy, caused my entire wooden deck to self-destruct. Replaced it at great cost with beautiful bluestone.
