New to this forum

Chatenay, France

Hi !
I am new to this forum, although I knew it since its beginning a few years ago,but I never suscribed to it,since now.
I have been growing rareplants since....10 years more or less.
I discovered caudiciforms and pachycaul plants (caudiciform ipomoeas as well) and rare vines 9 years ago, since them I am addicted !
I knew non caudiciform Ipomoeas since a long time now,but I discovered the Japanese ones just last year(I grew Mt Fuji and Tie Dye) , and I loved it so much that this year I got seeds of 15 different new varieties, my garden will look like an Asagao exhibition !
I am trying to get some Hige, feathered ipomoeas and all sorts of mutants Jap MG.
I also have many seeds to trade if someone as mutant JMG to swap (strophanthus petersianus, speciosus & kombe/Ipomoea longituba,pes-tigridis,tuberosa,purga,and other caudiciform ipomoeas/boswellia sp/stictocardia macalusoi/ etc etc.....) my seed list isn't ready yet !
I hope that we will exchange many tips, photos and seeds !

Amicalement,
Henri

Welcome Henri!

I'm sure you'll find you're in good company here. We all like to experiment with new seeds and try new plants. If someone doesn't have what you're looking for, there probably will be someone who will point you in the right direction. There are a lot of different Japanese types for sale on eBay, so maybe you can find some of what you're looking for there.

Glad to meetcha, Henri. I've gotten detoured away from this forum for a little while, but it's my home away from home, so to speak. Sometimes, you never know the places the subject of morning glories will take you, but it's always a magical trip.

Hi !
Thank you all for your welcome messages !!
It's true that Morning glories (convolvulaceae) are a really large, beautiful and interesting family, the Japanese morning glories being like a small water drop in an Ocean of genus and species.
I will try to answer your messages as quickly as I can, right now and the following month being a rather busy time for me (work,work,work...and planting season!)

A++
Henri
